Re: cb radio install instructions
I installed my CB on my 08 with Navigation and ABS and it was pretty straight forward. Once you take off all the stuff that is to install it. Measure twice drill once for the antenna and put painters tape on the paint before drilling to help prevent any cracking. If you run into an issue feel free t...

Re: removal of small rear fender
If I remember correctly both saddle bags have to come off and there is a bolt that connects that piece to each saddle bag.

Re: Annual Gathering Lessons
As someone who leads and rides in large groups there are things that work well that we have used for years with no issues. 1. Communication before the ride starts is a must with the group. Know the route you are going and expectations for the group as far as distance between bikes, speed, hand signals...

Re: Cornering Lights Yes another question.
My apologies I thought you had an SEI. Someone added those to your bike. My guess is the front panels are from an SEI. I wouldn't order the relays as you don't have the wiring to make them work like in a SEI or LTD.

Yes that's where they go. The relays are about 25 to 30 bucks a piece.

Re: Cornering Lights Yes another question.
Inside the fuse panel there are 2 relays one for each side. They most likely are not in there and they have them jumped so they'll stay on all the time. Once you have the relays (they are expensive) you will have to see if they work. If they don't come on when activating the turn signal then there i...

Re: Help with LTD
Thanks for the info. I was guessing at ignition and will check it out tomorrow. It did it once before after washing the bike. I thought I just sprayed water somewhere inadvertently. After today I know it's an issue that needs to be addressed. Will report back my findings. Once again the quick respon...

Help with LTD
I have the 85 LTD and something is getting wet that makes the bike run rough and rich. I was coming home today and hit a rain storm and the bike started running rough and was shuddering and running rich so much so it drank a half tank of gas in 60 miles or so. Once it sets and dries out she run just...

Re: Poor Boy questions
You can use the stock volt meter. You'll need a breaker to put between the alternator and the battery. The pulley I ordered a 4 inch Pulley. I believe Rednax used one from a honda car if I'm not mistaken. Let me see if I can find it and I'll repost. I'll also repost my alternator that I got from Ama...

Re: Poor Boy questions
I put a 70 amp on my GL1200 Limited edition. It was the same price as a 50 amp so I thought what the hell lol. It's been working great for the past year or so. You'll be glad you did it!

Alternator conversion
I have a question on alternator conversion. The alternator all have the v belt pulley and most guys have used a pulley from a prelude for the crank but those are serpentine. The crank bolt is 12mm if I'm correct. Will a 4 inch pulley with a 1/2 inch bore work for the crank? I can find plenty of 4 in...

Re: Rear tire went flat at 60 mph and a couple questions
I would suggest starting a new topic on the wiring of the compressor. An easy way to do it would be to just run a toggle switch somewhere and tap into the positive and negative wire for the compressor. I haven't researched it but that would seem the easiest.

Re: Not charging
If I remember correctlly one of those yellow wires is not copper. Make sure you strip them back far enough to get to good wire then solder in new wire with heat shrink tubes. Its important to not use butt connectors or the spade one's which are on there currently but to do a good solder job with goo...

Re: Not charging
The other problem is the connector at the regulator under the false tank. Not sure if it's covered in the previous links posted. Even though the plugs may look good take it apart and solder those wires together as well with heat shrink applied. My 1200 Limited Edition did that several years back on ...
