Re: Coolant Leak!

Only after the bike has ran. It usually shows up after a ride. I'll clean it up and it won't leak like this on its own.

Coolant Leak!

Help! I don't see a drip, I don't see steam, nothing? This picture is on the right side of the bike. Pardon the condition of the aluminum.

Oh the warm weather....

It's 60 and sunny today and it's giving me that itch. No, not the one that takes the special cream, the knees in the breeze itch! I got my 82 1100 Goldwing last year after it had been sitting about 5 years. After new brake lines, totally rebuilt brake calipers and cylinders, tune up, fluid change, n...

GL1100 starting issues

Hey guys. I hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend. I got the Goldwing started, kind of. If I roll the throttle back it will start. Drops below 2000 rpms it dies. Let the throttle go it dies. Choke seems to have no effect. Tons of smoke and it blew a small river of water out the exhaust. Lots of...

Re: How to replace your fuel filter

Seems like a good place to post this. Im working on an 82 gl1100 that's been sitting 5 years. I've replaced the fuel lines and filter, among others. Today I put gas in the tank and tried starting it, after I put a bit of oil in the cylinders last week and turned it over a few times first, and the ga...

Re: How to service your air compressor dessicant

I found where the hoses go, no where! I guess you pressurize the shocks and forks then just leave it and monitor it. Good stuff thanks for the reply

Re: How to service your air compressor dessicant

I have an 82 GL1100 and I don't have this setup. I removed the false tank and there's no compressor, gauge, or buttons. I tried tracing the lines from the forks and rear shocks but lost them in the frame. I'm usually short on time when working on the bike so I'll take another look soon, but are ther...

Hello everyone

5 years ago, the front brakes seized on my dads 82 GL1100 and it's been sitting there ever since. Last week he tells me if I can fix it, I can have it. 3 years ago I restored an 86 Nighthawk CB650SC that had been sitting for about 10 years, so I have a little experience working on older Honda bikes....

How to remove seized pistons from brake calipers

Pistons seized in your calipers? Never fear! 421.jpg 1. Remove the caliper from the bike and remove the bleeder screw. 417.jpg 2. Go to your local hardware store, find a grease fitting to go into your bleeder screw hole. M8 threads. Also, get a bolt to plug the hole where the banjo bolt for the brak...
