Re: Silly question. Can I remove the air shock if it has air in it?
You can, but then how will you refill it? Sounds like it might be time to repair the air suspension, or just leave it be if you can't do that right now. With the bike raised and the swing arm free, you should be able to remove both shocks. Last time I did it I seem to remember they were not exactly...

Silly question. Can I remove the air shock if it has air in it?
So I have my rear wheel off and want to pull the driveshaft. But my air suspension doesn't work. I don't know if the shock has air in it or not. If I try to take it off and it has air, will I even be able to get it off? Or will it go BOING!!

Re: Would you run this rear rotor?
Are you having to press HARDER, or is the brake pedal/lever travelling FURTHER before you get a response? So the pads and rotor are in good shape. If you haven't already flushed/bled the brakes, that would be my first step, followed by a rebuild of the master cylinder and caliper. I have to push a ...

Re: Love it when the previous owner leaves off part of the frame!!
That cross piece you fabricated is far stronger than the OEM piece, which is just a thin-walled tube with crimped ends. You can just barely see it on the lower left of this picture: Here's a better pic of the oem cross bar just for reference. 1998-Goldwing-GL-1500-Rear-Saddlebag-Luggage-Stay-Mount-...

Would you run this rear rotor?
This is on my 89 1500. I got this bike last year. Had no rear brake pedal at all. Bled it and seemed ok. As time went on I had to push harder on the brake to get anything. Now I have to push fairly hard. Thought I might need new pads. So I pulled the rear fender off to change the tire. Looked at the...

Love it when the previous owner leaves off part of the frame!!
Good thing I needed to change my rear tire. I ended up doing a little fabrication project. Over kill? Maybe. But I had fun doing it,,,lol. I was able to install my Bushtec trailer hitch on my 89 Goldwing with out having to take anything apart. Just had to remove a muffle bolt on each side. And then ...

Finally pulled the new trailer.
Well not exactly new being a 1984. But man. What a smooth combo. I just went around the block a couple of times just to be able to say I pulled it,,,lol. Now I have to go through both the bike and trailer to bring things up to spec before heading out. Here's a 24 second video if you care to watch. 3...

Nice score. I too recently got a Bushtec for $100. Looks the same as yours.
The extra wire is probably black and is for an auxiliary hot wire in the trailer.
Have you joined the facebook Bushtec group?

Anyone have a Bushtec trailer hitch on a 1500?
Just wondering if anyone has had a Bushtec hitch on an early 1500. If so, how did you like it? Any problems?
A pic would be great. Thanks.

Yippie!! Just scored a Bushtec trailer for cheap!
I just stole this Bushtec for $100. It's in very nice shape for it's age. It needs the air lines replaced, which it came with new ones.

Project Terrier Carrier! Do I dare?
So I have a small miniature rat terrier, Wilton. He weighs 14 pounds. I would love to take him on my 1500. Load up and go camping even. I've seen the pet carriers made for this but they are very pricey, no real security, and with no guarantee he would even get in one. That would be a big waste of mo...

Re: Pressure check and compressor not working
Ok, I'll take a stab at it. First of all there are three fuses that need to be checked; number 6,7 and 10 all three of which are 10 amp. If that doesn't help post again and I'll go through the schematic with you. Thanks for the reply. ALL the fuses in the fuse box tested good. Are there 2 I missed ...

Pressure check and compressor not working
When I first got this bike last year I remember seeing the pcheck button work. I can't remember if the compressor worked or not. I had too many other things I was working on just getting the bike running. So I've done every conceivable set up, on center stand, key in different position's, and what n...

Re: '95 Hidden Gas Leak?
4 months later, but I figured I should update this for anyone else who stumbles onto this thread. I rebuilt both carbs and accelerator pump with the Randakks kit. It was my left-hand float bowl gasket which was causing the leak. However, the main reason I wanted to update this thread was to inform ...

Re: Are these 90° valve stems ok?
I tried to copy the comment about it does not work on 88-2000 goldwing 1500 because of the raised part of the rim for the rubber valve stems that have that plastic holder notch. It says it would have to be modified or ground down. It all fit and looked fine to me. losing 6 pounds in 3+ months you w...
