Re: K OHM values

The 5.14 Value is a brand new (#4) 1800 spark plug wire. The other is a plug wire I made up for my wing (#6) late last year out of an automotive (7MM spiral core) make your own custom length wires kit. Received all new 1800 plug wires from Bike bandit but the # 6 one is on back order for who knows ...

Re: K OHM values

Electrical issues generally dont bother me, but I never bothered to learn about OHMS. I have two spark plug wires here and have no idea how they are constructed. My multi-meter auto ranges and with one wire I get (by the way they are almost the same length) 5.14 K OHM and the other .681 K OHM. What...

Re: 2006 model

Price seems fair, just depends on the locale.

if it looks to be in good condition, no obvious rattles, leaking fluids, no bad scrapes on the frame underneath, just get it and go.

My 2002 had 97,500 miles on it when I bought it, and it runs like a new one at 114,000 miles

I think your tunnel experience over-whelms being stuck out in the desert flat lands.
the heat was probably about the same though, the danger of the tunnel drivers for a stopped m/c just scares the B-willies out of me.

Re: Using 10w40 Mobil one fully synthetic motor oil

I am using Rotella T6 in 5w40
the 5w or 10w just ensures that oil pressure comes up fast.

my car is spec'd by GM at 5w20 and has been on full synthetic since new 11 years ago.

Re: Goldwing Trike passenger weight limits

In my mind, not more then 140lbs ... anything heavier then that, and ... well :( However, it varies by trike manufacture. The best way to find out is to go to your trike's Owner's Manual. If you don't have one, many manufactures provide that info online by going to their web page. that is totally r...

IF,
there is no sign warning of that Speed Bump, that dealer is responsible for the damage, your insurance agent should handle that for you.

Re: Fuel sender interchange

as the Fuel Tank is the same shape on all of them, it will work. none of them are accurate, so what we all suggest is that you 'kink' the float arm so that it reads Kerrect at 1/2 tank or 3 gallons of fuel left. remove fuel pump, tank has to be 3 gallons or less, or it will over flow :( :( e...

Re: What Should I Expect for Trike Mileage

my 1800 pulling the Square Wooden box trailer averaged about 32ish over 4,000 miles.

my '98SE averaged 33.3 over 3,500 miles from Tampa, FL to Phoenix, AZ over a 3 week time period.
got a spreadsheet to detail that one out.

even on 2 wheels, the 1500 at 3500 rpm will be guzzling fuel at 32-34 mpg

I looked into that, the "medical evidence" is a bit sparse.

however, we seem to have some of that stuff here in the house, I will try it for a while.

I had floorboards on my 98SE I had cramp problems on that bike also, and it was because I could not move my legs far enough to change the total position of my knees and hips. definitely try to put full weight on one highway peg, and shift as required to try and get that leg straight. forgot to menti...

Re: Transmission problem 1500 SE

the problem can be reduced by applying slight pressure on the shifter before the shift, then holding throttle steady or just slightly backing off on it, shift into 4th. While the throttle is held steady, back off just a bit, and continue to hold toe pressure on the shifter. not hard, don't force it....

the only time I use mine, is when a few of us in a small group are running together. Having said that, I believe good tires on the camper are of paramount importance, reducing the likelihood of a flat on the road.
and yup, that is why I bought Carlisle upgraded 8" tire in 5.80 size.
