Re: DCT Transmission

2 years ago, I bought a Piaggio MP3 scooter with a CVT transmission.

after riding it for one weekend at a motorcycle rally, I fell in love with it.

if I buy another bike, it will have DCT or I won't buy it.

Re: bike records for knowing its history

unfortunately, the answer is 'NO'. at best, our local DMV ( vehicle registration departments ) can track it back once to the prior owner... but, that is not true for all states. Like here in Oklahoma, they take the title from the previous owner, log it, then throw it away. that title never shows up ...

I am up to about 2 minutes into it, the GPS on the one bike is showing 42-46 mph most of the time.

kind of weird not hearing any engine noise, just the whine of the gearing

Every time I get off the bike and every time is... gas stops... maintenance ... Parking
I always said 'every time' I get off, but I did not mention that includes stopping for gas, a bite to eat.

IF, the bike is stopped and I'm not on it, it goes on the Center Stand.

I always went by Wrist Feel.

the hand can sense when the bolt resists being turned anymore.
No matter the actual "torque value", that is "good enough" or you will break something.

Re: Fuel Pump failure

Many years ago, I owned a '94SE and have issues with pressure build up, or a vacuum forming and the engine would stall.

my solution at that time, was to drill a hole thru the tank cap.
Problem solved.

Sorry Mike, yea GPS = gear position switch/sensor. This bike has a unique failure mode, I’ve seen failures of the RRA, reverse regulator assembly, but they have been different than this one. It’s fun when one of the diodes shorts in it and no longer isolates a ground and let’s it get to the wrong c...

you need to get a 330CCA AGM battery, and put a Battery Tender Jr. on the battery over the winter months. for the gas, I highly recommend and use Sta-Bil 360 marine treatment. I put it in everything that runs on gasolene and sits all winter. the lawnmower and auxiliary generator start on the first c...

bought a 175r16 for my gl1800 but it will not work too tall it is supposed to be replacement for taxi tire looked good on rim but at 27" tall it hit front swing arm [suspension]
???

you mean that you put it on a 1500 bike, right?

175R16 is smaller than the stock 195R16 for a gl1800.

Even if you had 3 different flasher devices, as long as, they are all connected to the primary Brake Light wire from the bike, they will work independent of each other, AS LONG AS, they use different bulbs.

All bets are OFF, if you try to use them to flash the OEM light bulbs.

the Single Most Important thing about oil, is to keep it clean. your choice, change it out often, or change the filters and top it off taking an oil sample. The Oil Sample Lab tests run in the area of $30 bux, I forget exactly now, I have paid for 2 of them so far. Our Pontiac Vibe gets an oil chang...

I have seen a few people do it, a perfect waste of good money. a Wet Cell is adequate, but takes a bit of monitoring to ensure you don't boil the water out. AGM batteries are the best for Cost/Performance ratio and Longevity. Lithium batteries don't take well to over-charging, something to keep in m...

Just in case you don't have a service manual. Download free here. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/81794 ... l1500.html
that is a lousy example what with having to go through pages like that.

send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the PDF version of the manual
