Re: F6B Heal Toe Shifter

It would bother me, as you can't know the rider's habits of whether or not he allowed his feet to rest on the shifter.... that can bend the forks.

IF, a test ride reveals a clean shift, up and down, all the way, many times,
then it should be okay. but that Heel toe shifter would disappear for me.

Re: 2007 Gl1800 140,000 miles

I bought a 2002 with 97500 miles and the dealer held the title from Florida. I got the name, and address, and wrote off a letter.... that guy actually wrote back and gave me his phone number, ended up that I got full documentation from mile #1 to present ( at time of purchase ) try that.... as for t...

Re: New 2018 Goldwing Survey

I think a short test ride of, at most 100-200 miles, is not nearly enough to figure out and appreciate this new Wing. Truer words were never spoken. There's a definite learning curve to the DCT, especially for low speed handling. The odd part (for me) though, is that my test ride took only 15 minut...

Re: No start

the first thing is to check the condition of the battery connections, and the terminals where the negative connects to the frame. don't remember on the 2007 if the starter relay clicks with the OFF/ON/OFF switch in the off position or not, but I have been bitten by that...... it gets moved and you d...

Re: Runs then dies but will restart....

the higher octanes will actually contribute to making an engine ping "down the road" after a long time of using it. 93 is not fully combusted in our low combustion ratio Goldwing engines, and therefore, it leaves carbon residue behind on the heads and tops of the pistons..... eventually, that will c...

Re: Runs then dies but will restart....

I run 93, use Seafoam. Checked for water in gas. That is fine. 93 what? if you mean octane, you are wasting your money. all Goldwings, regardless of year, are made to run on 87.... a higher octane does not make them perform better. 93 mph? must be running okay :D From what I have read before, you j...

upload it as a PDF, that is by far better.

a pictorial of a document is just about useless for us, we can't read it.

Re: cruise control

I doubt that it will be hard to make it work right, they just don't give any trouble as a rule.

with a '94, '98, and my 2002, none of them have ever given a real problems.

slight miss calibration for the "set speed", but that is just a cable maladjustment.

Re: Having a real problem keeping my 92 1500 cc Gold Wing upright

I think that I have tried every possible way to ground a Goldwing... the 1st time was on a 1500 after having owned an '84 and '86, neither of those decided to go to sleep. Mesa, Arizona: the '94SE? I was backing out of my garage down a gentle slope into the street. this one time, I elected to back o...

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll put some padding where it need to be.

I saw one guy's UltraGuard half cover at a rally last year.

he got some of that leatherette stuff with flannel on the backside, and sewed that to the cover on the bottom side, made a super neat package.

Re: How to install Dyna Beads in your tires

This is an interesting DIY that I enjoyed reading. I have used the beads (I think they are the Dyna Bead brand), for several tires now I think starting with either my GL1100 or GL1500. A small HD shop I have used recommended them. I've found them to be very smooth. Before I sold the 1500 I had 18,5...

Re: A comparison between the 2018 and 2001 GoldWing

At the (severe) risk of oversimplification, I told my Honda dealership that my GL1500 was elephantine and my 2018 GL1800BD is a gazelle. I suppose I'm in a definite minority, but I would not have even considered the 2018 Wing had it not been downsized from previous model years. I traded a much belo...

How does the Suzuki Burgman 400 compare in the Acceleration department? Re: Ultragard Half Cover

a Word of Warning on the UltraGuard 1/2 cover. it does indeed fit nice and snug, I like that. But, you MUST put something over the antenna hinge points, or it will poke a hole thru the cover after about the 3rd time you use it. I am using Tennis balls cut about 2/3rds the way around. Other folks hav...
