Re: Restoration started

That looks like an interesting "Jigsaw Puzzle" type project, Might start another thread for it under "Other Bikes", and keep this thread for the 'Wing. We will be interested in following progress on both. I think that would be neat to start a different thread and let us follow through with that bik...

Re: '78 GL1000 idling problem

I noted that you "got a kit" to rebuild the carbs. It is pretty well known by those who have "been there" and worked on these a long time, that aftermarket parts for Honda carbs just don't work well. even Kendakk recommends buying only OEM Honda parts... expensive sometimes, but not always. if you b...

Low Profile tires and internal balancing don't work well together.
Dyna Beads has a chart on that subject.

DO NOT USE SLIME IN MOTORCYCLE TIRES
i AM A FIRM BELIEVE IN RIDE ON. Have used it years.
You do need to check your tires often for objects stuck in them.
my local tire shop has a sign up on the wall:
we will not change tires that have Slime in the wheels!

Re: Dyna Beads VS Ride on Tire balancing

I like the idea, but have only used Dyna Beads which do a fantastic job for me.

in my lawn tractor, I use Slime liquid for thorns.

wonder if I used the Ride along stuff, the zero turn mower would ride smoother?

I took a bad fall last March and my right shoulder hit a rock..... talk about hurt, that one made me think of the baddest words I ever spoke. wasn't even moving, just sitting still on a grassy slope, and the soil just suddenly disappeared under the scooter's tires, and down we went. still go...

Re: need gps suggestions

I'm using an old school Garmin 2797 mounted halfway between the hand grips on a RAM mount off the right hand grip. I drilled a hole in the case, soldered an audio cable across the speaker voice coil leads, and ran that thru the case. made that about 18" long, ran that lead down the handlebar to the ...

Is there any way to speed up reverse? It is painfully slow. I Am a first time owner of a 2007 GL1800 Trike. Nope, as Greg has already mentioned. But, I will mention one more item you need to do. Find that sidestand switch, and remove the wires from it. Install a toggle switch someplace where you ca...

IF, we restrict ourselves to just reading Schematics, that are Multi-Pages.... "E" is just the 5th circle DOT that shows common connections between pages. "A" "B" "C" and so on..... it just a tie point between common wiring points. the engineers have a wall 15 feet high, by 35 feet long to put their...

Re: Reverse Question

My '02 will stop when reversing, as did my '94 and '98. Don't recall just why, but it is not indicative of a starter failure. IMO, it is a timer function... ( no proof of that ) I just release the start button, wait a few seconds and engage again to back out of my shop. My shop has a Transom under t...

Re: Tire Replacement

Check the Date Code on the side of the tire.

It is generally considered that 6 years is End of Life.

but, if that tire has been stored in a dark place, I would use it at 6 years old.

15 years old, it is junk
