Re: Getting a 93 Aspencade running after 4 years sitting

Folks who have not ridden a 1500 with the Superbrace, just can't fathom how it will help the bike's stability.

Night and Day difference at speeds below 5 mph.

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

if you go to a lower profile tire, the tread will indeed be flatter. that can be good, or bad, depending on your preferences. at a standing stop, it will tend to remain vertical. rolling thru deep ruts at slower speeds, it will try to climb up and out with the back tire, forcing the bike into a diff...

Lane Splitting in OkieLand will get us a ticket if caught.

2 abreast don't seem to matter. the hog boys do it all day long,

us Honda riders don't, we go to opposite sides of the lanes and zig zag pattern.

Re: The idiots are out there

Here's a couple more for what they are worth.... When I stop behind a vehicle in front of me I always leave at least one and a half or two car lengths of space between me and the vehicle and I point my bike a little toward the escape path I have chosen. That way you do not have to make such a sharp...

When coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign or anywhere really. Weave back and forth in your lane before coming to a stop. This left and right movement makes you more visible to the cager behind you. Ravyn Absolutely !!! I weave from lane edge, to lane edge, and I have a swimming pool orange ...

Re: The idiots are out there

I once observed a BIG black SUV bearing down on my back fender with alarming speed..... looked right, lane full. looked left, grassy median strip with one of those cable barriers in the middle. I chose the median strip and had just caught up to the front of the car in front of me, when that SUV slam...

Re: Strange thing only when I pull trailer

the only abnormal thing I have experienced is when I first got my wood box trailer. it had been narrowed and the owner cut the axle and patched it back together himself. him being a carpenter, did not lend well to the results. also, he cut the tongue "short to pull behind his trike".... bad mistake....

Re: trailer lghts not working

Harbor Freight has a nice little tool for testing current draw: circuit tester - you remove the fuse in question (up to 30A) and plug this tool into the fuse block, then place the just-removed fuse into the tool (to protect the circuit). It will show how much current is flowing in the circuit... wh...

If you have the ones that you can see the filter, which is the only kind I buy, you will be able to see water start to collect on the bottom side of it..... that is the time to change it.... on my lawnmower, that was every 2nd day, until I got a gallon of water out of it..... don't ask.......... now...

Re: which Highway pegs do you suggest?

If you go with Mick O Pegs, please call them on the phone, that is the only way that you can get the correct peg mounting for " Your legs " and riding style. their pegs are very flexible in mounting positions, and with the way you like to ride. that is why you need to call them, a chart with a bunch...

Re: which Highway pegs do you suggest?

owned two 1500s, both had solid pegs on the vertical bars. okay, sort of.... but I did not like them because IF, you lay down, they will dig into the asphalt and spin you violently... ( their pegs fit the 1500s also, my bike is an 1800, don't let that distract you ) just ask Gene Lester about that, ...

putting it back to 2 wheels is just about impossible, so much is removed. but, it could be done, if all the parts removed were kept on the shelf, but it would be a long task, and expensive. I don't suspect that he was going that fast, as the wind screen is still intact from what I can see. Surely the rider would have been thrown forward. Re: why I choose a car tire

If you choose one of the car tires with a more rounded profile, and you keep it pressured up in the 40-55 psi range, it is hard to tell that you are not using a "motorcycle tire". the flatter profiles though have a bad tendency to want to climb out of ruts, but at the same time, they totally ignore ...
