I have an electronic ignition, the last owner did that, when I don't know. I have replaced the coils and checked the output, 3 ohms max, also replaced the voltage regulator and condensors. New plugs, traced evey wire in the harness, that was fun, found some wear and protected them, but no direct sho...

Thanks guys, seeing the bike just sitting there is very sad. I'll get on your suggestions as soon as the local storms and I heal from a minor surgery. Can't wait to finally get to the bottom of all this and ride again!

I have a very nice 1979 GL1000 as an everyday rider with low original mileage, hard shell bags, full Vetter fairing, satellite/CD radio, etc. What I can't figure out is why at higher RPM's I lose power? The carbs have been rebuilt, new timing belts, coils replaced and in the proper order, new plugs,...

'79 GL1000 losing power
I have a low mileage 1979 GL1000 that has just about everything gone over or rebuilt on it. Now I have a problem with losing power after it warms up. It acts like only three cylinders are firing. When I get home and check with a meter all three are on the money. The carbs were re-built over the wint...
