Radio

The clear protection cover is all cracked and brittle falling apart on the radio should I remove all of this before I install the new radio decal I have, I hate to see it peel away months from now because I did not do this step. Has anyone else done this.

Re: Motorcycle Wheel Cleaning Stand

I put wing on center stand and use a car sissor jack and lift the front enough to spin the wheel for cleaning. Also use jack to pull wheel from forks.

Re: Riding in wind

WOW, thanks for all the input guys! I just might try a belly pan, figure it can't hurt. When you guys mention counter steering, I know how to use it in a turn so do you mean to use it to counter the push of the wind and keep the bike in a straight line? "Yes" I love the quotes FM-USA, those are foo...

Re: Riding in wind

I ride a 99 GL1500 with a belly pan, your bike may respond differently.. Not sure if the belly pan helps, I installed it when I got the bike.. If you happen to have wind wings installed, push the back of the wing, on the windward side out, to create more drag on that side of the bike……this can make...

Re: Riding in wind

someone at work asked me that question, and I told him counter steering works that way your body is not commited to leaning and loose grips so you won't be so wore out from the ride, just relax

Re: It's Deer Season!

I too have hit two deer the ass end of one and the front of one, I went between them lucky me. That was some years ago since that time I have installed animal whistles on the front of my wing since installing them I have seen many animals run back into the trees, I still keep a keen eye out for them...

Re: Saddlebag Lid Hinge

The chrome trim at the bottom of saddle must be removed to get at the screws. I used a hair dryer to heat up the chrome strip, it has a 3m product (two way sticky tape) to hold it in place, then you will find the 3 screws holding the hinge door. I am a cheapskate and removed the 3m product from the ...

Re: who rides at night?

The worst time to ride at night would be at dusk and dawn, that's when the animals are moving the most. Ride safe everyone. I switched my corning lights to stay on at all times and added high intensity lights just below the fairing using a GL1500 light bar. I also added animal whistles on the front ...

Re: Parking Stand Good Idea & Reverse Gear Is Great

The wing is always strapped down when on the lift, and the rear wheel is on the lift completely even when on center stand. I will have to swing by HF and check holder out for width and placement. Thanks for you input.

Would that stand fit Harbor Freights motorcycle lift, sure would be nice not having to use center stand on lift for minor work and repairs.

I read a long time ago in easyrider magazine about using lemon pledge on tires. I have used this product for year have year for about 30 years now with no problems at all, Lemon pledge is a non protoleum product which leaves no oil on your tires. Just read the bottle for ingredients and make sure yo...
