Good deal. If you do not have a need for that fuel pump right away, I have heard that the plastic the holds things in place has a tendency to dry out and crack. It may be wise to submerge it in something to prevent it from self destructing. Fuel? Kerosene? Mineral Spirits? I do not have any personal...

Re: Question about the Model difference of the 1999's

I just bought a Bike that I was told was and That I believed to be a 50th anniversary SE. it has the anniversary Keys, emblems on the bike, all that good stuff. But I just ran the vin on some free check sites and they are saying it's an Aspencade. My Title just reads 1999 HOND MC CYL GLDWING <-- th...

Re: windshield

Micro scratches happen and there really is nothing you can do to avoid it. When you clean your windshield, do not use a circular motion. An up and down stroke will minimize the effect of how the light refracts off of the scratches and be less noticeable. To help loosen bugs and such from your windsh...

I have used Novus with good results on my Tulsa Tall windshield. How often do you need to use the polish and how do you like a Tulsa? I only had to use the polish once after 12 years and 153,000 miles of use. There was a build up of polish and some micro scratches that I needed to take care of. How...

I can not tell what it is that you lost but if it were me, I'd buy a new piece and replace it. There really is no concerns about heat where you will be doing the soldering and using a heat gun to shrink the tubing. But, if it is a concern for you, protecting things from heat can be done by putting a...

Re: Windshield vent?

I personally do not have or use a vent but I can tell you that you need to get a vent that is made for your windshield. The Honda windshields and after market shields are not the same thickness. And keep in mind that the after market shields are not all the same thickness amongst the manufacturers.

You can go to a Home Depot and buy a simple 40 watt soldering iron and it will suit your job perfectly. I have not shopped for a soldering iron in a very long time but if you really want to buy on Amazon, look for this: Weller SP40NKUS 40-Watts Soldering Iron Kit Red/Black, 5 piece . It will come wi...

Re: Pathfinder LED headlight problems

Thanks so much for the reply. I was curious. You see, I too had HID's on my GL1500 and my GL1800, then I went to Pathfinders. Initially the HID's were great and at the time I thought they were the ultimate answer as the LED's available were on the anemic side. Once proper LED's became available I sw...

Re: How to install Dyna Beads in your tires

I added 3 oz of CounterAct (or whatever they're called) beads from Napa to each tire and left the weights on. Road test seemed to be good and smooth, but it was very windy so I was fighting that and traffic. I was expecting a more noticeable i.e. smooth-as-glass result but was afraid to remove the ...

Re: How to install Dyna Beads in your tires

The weights are easily removed. Honda wheel weights are clamp on at the center rib of the wheel. They just pull off. Stick on are a little more tenacious. You have to stick a spatula type of pry tool to get under them and start the adhesive releasing. Using a plastic tool will minimize any scratchin...

Re: Heated seat (and backrest?)

The backrest is heated. There is a connector on the rear of the back rest in the upper right quadrant of the backrest.
The backrest comes off with the removal of the two screws that are accessed with the truck lid open. Remove the screws and lift up and forward on the backrest.

With what little information you have provided, 2007 Gold Wing with 1200 miles on it, you should be very concerned about everything that has or had fluid of any kind in it. A 14 year old Gold Wing with 1200 miles on it is a candidate for lots and lots of maintenance. Every cavity on that bike needs ...

Because I have never liked the vented windshield, I replaced my windshields with a non-vented windshield.

I have never done this myself, however I have heard of riders using a piece of nylon stocking to act as a screen.

I changed all relays on my GL1500 last season. One relay (Headlight Low) was wrong now. Relay is knocking but no power on bulbs. I was interested why it does not work so I opened this relay. What I can see. If coil is powered on, movable iron armature fully seats on coil core. But we can see bloody...

I guess I'm missing your point Techdude. Using normal tungsten halogen bulbs in the high beam sockets will blind people too. That's why you dim your headlights for oncoming traffic right? Yea, but the OP is talking about not fixing his dead low beams and using the high beams as low beams. 2001 GL18...
