Re: alternator issues
It would appear that you have a defective alternator and need to return it for a warranty replacement or a refund.

Re: installing bluetooth
Excellent. Thanks for that. I'd been thinking of Bluetooth for phone to headset communication for when the phones no longer have a phone jack in them.

Re: installing bluetooth
It is good that you got it figures out.
So what Bluetooth adapter did you go with?
What does it do for you; tunes, phone, navigation, headset communication? Do you just use it to listen to audio from a phone or tablet or does it do more?

Re: installing bluetooth
Who manufactures and sells the Bluetooth adapter that you installed? Does it come with the appropriate plugs to plug it into your Gold Wings system? You say there are no instructions; can't you contact the manufacturer or get info online ab out the adapter? Without more information, it is really har...

Re: Opener rod snap
Unfortunately Motosport can't get the part either. I ordered a couple of these clips just in case I needed a new one and the order was cancelled today. It looks like a different method for attaching the opener cable will have to be devised. Like WingAdmin says, maybe a 3D printer job. Here's what th...

Re: Saddle bag subframe
I am relatively certain that the sub-frames are all the same.
That being said, a broken sub-frame is easily repaired if you have any welding skills.

Re: GPS works but won't track
I guess it's possible that you have an antenna fault. If you had the bike apart recently maybe the antenna got disconnected and or broken. I do not have a nav equipped goldwing so I don't know where the antenna is. You will have to look it up and see if you can find it and then follow the antenna li...

Re: I think I may have a carburetor problem
I think the first thing to do would be to check the fuel filter. As long as you're in there, if you haven't replaced it recently go ahead and replace it. The next thing I would check is the vacuum operated petcock which is right underneath The fuel filler door and forward of the gas tank cap. There ...

In the 23 years I have been riding and wrenching on Gold Wings, I never used BikeBandit. For some strange reason I was put off by their name.

Step one would be to check the coolant level in the overflow and the radiators.

Re: Right radiator fan motor replacement
I do not know what the service manual says but I am pretty sure there is no easy way. The fairing has to come off and I believe the radiator needs to come out. I've replaced the left radiator and fan in the past after an accident on a 2003. The fairing was off at the time because it was pretty much ...

Re: Keeping Cool
Yes it does sound like you have a cooling problem. In those temperatures I would anticipate seeing the needle at the halfway point on the gauge. With the three GL 1500s I have owned I've never seen a temperature gauge needle go over halfway in hot weather. The normal heat range is about 1/4 scale. I...

I certainly ope it all works out. It can be an emotionally painful and drawn out process dealing with an unscrupulous dealer.

Re: New bike, revs hunting and misfires
I'd been reassured all was as it should be with the bike (respected bike shop), so figured she'd be better after fresh fuel added, and fully warmed up: She wasn't! Was this reassurance coming from the dealer you bought the motorcycle from? Was it a salesman or a technician? Obviously wasn't about t...

Sorry if this isn't making much sense but I'm a rider, not a mechanic. My husbandxand I gavexa weekend ride planned for next weekend and I'd rather not do it on my Shadow 700 if possible. Can anyone give me any idea as to what the problem might be and how to fix it? Thanks! It would be beneficial i...

Re: Engine Rev while riding after bike is warm
I can't say with 100% certainty but I'd say every bearing in the engine that is lubricated with engine oil is in jeopardy.
I also do not know how quickly they would be affected.

Re: Engine Rev while riding after bike is warm
I didn't say there was anything wrong with the brakes. DOT4 Brake fluid is used in the clutch system. Brake food will leak through the clutch cylinder into the engine and cause bearing failure.

That handle looks to be unobtainable online. You may have to canvass local, and not so local, accessory retailers to see if they have that item on the wall somewhere.

Here is a You Tube video of Chris Caliente installing a Kuryakyn 3215 handle and why he had to install it.
