Re: How to: WET hands in DRY GLOVES?

I always have a towel or two in the saddlebag. With that I have always been able to adequately dry my hands so I can slip my gloves on.

Re: 1990 1500SE electrics

Yup, it's a ground connection.

Keeping the connections clean and tight is the way to prevent it but there are lots of connectors on these machines. It's really difficult to insure all the connections on the bike are 100%.

Re: 2004 rear brakes acting up

This is a question for my brothers bike. He was quite ill for close to 3 yrs. His bike sat in his garage for that time until he was able to finally go home. He had it fired up in the summer and it works fine other than one thing. He noticed that the rear brake peddle goes down all the way first pus...

Re: 1990 1500SE electrics

I would suspect it is a ground issue. Under the seat on the left and right hand sides near the frame tubes near the top of the shocks are two multi conductor plugs stowed away inside a plastic clam shell type of box. The connector on the left hand side is where I suspect your issue is. Open the box ...

Re: Fork Top Issue — no valve, no hex!

This is a bit confusing. With fork caps like these, the black plastic cover screws onto the Schrader valve and that is how it stays in place. How did your black plastic covers stay put? The fork caps could have been modified by the previous owner. The Schrader valves are not necessary if you do not ...

The hands need to be dry to get into the gloves. Wet hands just will not go into dry gloves.

Re: Fork Top Issue — no valve, no hex!

Whoever worked on the forks before neglected to put the Schrader valves back in place. I'm surprised it's not spitting oil everywhere. You will need to each of these, 51456-469-013 VALVE, AIR and 91305-323-000 O-RING (5.8X1.9) I also recommend that you get a Honda service manual for your specific mo...

Can you use WD40 to lubricate the left and right control switches? i.e, turn signal, hazzard, hi/lo beam/kill switch cruise ect.... Thank you WD-40 is not a lubricant. WD-40 is a multi-purpose product that is typically used to remove corrosion, prevent rust and get all kinds of things unstuck. It w...

Both of my antenna bases on my '98 GL1500 are the same. Here is a picture of the CB mounting. The AM/FM mounting is identical. CB Antenna Base.jpg I remember in the past seeing an antenna mount that was somewhat different on an older GL1500. That base did not have the jam nut so that the antenna cou...

Hi Mike, that's the only downside you can't see the LED screen.... I don't listen to audio on the Wing Mike and the only gripe is the trip readings. If I was going to spend a couple of hours in the saddle and filled the tank up at a petrol station, I would zero the trip meter as normal but a...

Re: JACO FlowPro Digital Tire Inflator Gauge Review (with video)

Hi Scott, The JACO FlowPro digital tire gauge and inflator looks like a great product for modern Goldwings and other motorcycles that have good clearance directly above the valve stem. Unfortunately, for we OldWing owners that have Comstar wheels, there is very little headspace above the valve stem...

I'm pretty sure that the CB is the same unit regardless of whether the bike is an Audio/Comfort or a Navi model. The LCD screen on either bike will give you the CB info.

Honestly, I do not know. I do believe that the information you need to see such as channel, volume and squelch settings are only visible via the LCD screen.

One thing I did neglect to mention is that the updates to the Navi maps is kind of sketchy. I think you have to pay for the updates Plus getting them accomplished is not really easy nor are they readily available. I've been spoiled by my Garmin GPS units. I have about a dozen of them and they're all...

Re: Disadvantages to 2010 Navi option???

Having the Navi is not really an issue. Yes, it doesn't function as well as the aftermarket stand alone GPS units but the onboard Navi suits some folks just fine. The draw back is the LCD screen. I have seen numerous issues with the LCD screen on the Navi models and zero issues with the non-Navi mod...
