Re: Tire separation

First ride if the season as life has been in the way. Fluids all good every thing looks tight. Plugs cleaned and gapped. Tire pressure and tread depth good. Meet up with the riding crew and we're off. About 80 miles into the day we were making our way through a Park and slowed down for a Sow bear w...

Re: Innovv K5 4K Dual Camera System Review (VIDEO)

You might find that mounting the camera in the center will cause it to hit the front fender on a hard hit in a pot hole or speed bump. That won't harm the camera I don't think but it can damage that expensive fender or even the plastic where the cameras is mounted. The camera has a wide enough view ...

Re: Spark Plug Heat Range?

OEM NGK plugs are only about $15 a set of six. Honda recommends replacing them every 12K miles or so.
OEM plugs work great. I've never had one foul or misfire and they do not drain the wallet.

Heel-toe shifters are not easy to set up so that they do not jam. It takes time and more patience than I have ever had. If you like the idea of the heel-toe shifter, you will get it accomplished. It will just take you some experimentation.

Re: Pegasus: Engine Valve Seal Leak

If it is just a rubber seal that is leaking, no problem. Simply remove the bolt, slide the old seal off, slide the new one on and reinstall the bolt. Just do not over torque the bolt when you reinstall it.

Oh wait, you will have to remove the engine guard first. That is a bit of a time consumer.

Re: Brake calipers

Pump up the brakes with the brake pedal until you have a high pedal. Place a heavy weight on the pedal to keep it depressed for several hours, overnight is good.
I've heard that this should work the air bubble up and out of the lines.
Then bleed the brakes again as specified in the service manual.

You know, everything is possible. It is just a mater of how much turmoil one is open to endure.

For a first timer, I'd suggest taking the fork tubes out.

Re: Fork seal replacement without removing tubes

Personally, I think it is folly to not remove the fork tubes. Once you have all the hardware out of the way to do what you say can be done, there are only three bolts per tube that need to be loosened to remove the entire fork tube. Once the tubes are out, you can work on them on a bench or table. M...

Re: Have questions about non-stock exhaust

Since the GL1500 collector box is no longer procurable new and the units that can be found used are most likely in less than perfect shape, the X-Factor is a pretty sound idea I think.

Re: 99' GL1500 SE WON'T START

As of last Friday morning my GL1500 decided to not start after fully cranking twice. My battery is fully charged 12+ Volts, fuel pump has power and is pumping gas upon attempting to start, and I have spark on the plugs (tested cylinder 5 & 6), recently rebuilt my Petcock, resynched carbs (carb ...

Re: 94 GL 1500 fuel and temp gauges non op

If the female connectors are tight against the relay's male connectors, you should not be generating any heat and the plastic will not melt. Evidently the connections were not tight enough and that is what caused the heat to be generated and melted the plastic. As to liquid rubber, I think you mean ...

The PASSENGER BACKREST COVER ONLY WITH COMFORT WEDGE FOR GL1800 sold by Wing Stuff is what you are looking for.
I have one on my 2017. It had been on my 2003. Before I sold the bike, I transferred it to the 2017.

Sorry to say but you should remove the forks anyway. They most likely need to have the fluid changed and the proper way to do that is to remove them, empty them and clean them out.

Re: 94 GL 1500 fuel and temp gauges non op

I have already ordered 4 of the above mentioned relays. After further inspection, I find that the relay that has blown 3 or 4 times, may not be the real problem. The area in the Fuse/Relay box where I insert the relay, is burnt and also has some of the side plastic insulation burnt away. Don't supp...

Re: 99 GL1500 Fairing Crack - Repair???

If it is not possible to disassemble things then about your only alternative is to try a Stop Drill procedure to keep the crack for getting longer.
You just have to be careful you do not drill into something behind where you drill the hole.

Re: 94 GL 1500 fuel and temp gauges non op

It is probably not the relay itself but faulty contacts that the relay plugs into. The contacts need to be a good strong physical contact with the relay terminals. If not, the contacts heat up and start to melt the plastic they are mounted in and the problem just gets worse.

Find the #3 Relay. Top row, third from the left as you are looing at the panel.

Tap it, wiggle it, remove it and put it back in.
See if that helps.

Re: LED Driving Lights

To the best of my knowledge the Gold Wing doesn't have that particular diagnostic ability to identify faulty bulbs. However if you do use LED bulbs for turn signals, you will get the fast flash. One way to defeat that is to leave one each bulb on each side, left and right, as standard tungsten bulbs...
