Re: Intercom helmet headset wind noise

https://f4customs.com/windshields-for-honda-gold-wing-gl1800-2001-to-2017.html Use above address/link to get to the web page. It's a windshield that is thicker than OEM windshields and in the case of +4, it means 4" taller than standard height. I'm 6'4" and I can still look over the +4 but...

Re: Intercom helmet headset wind noise

As previously mentioned, I also have a 2015 GL1800 and a F4+4 with vent did the trick for me and my wife. One of the best additions to bike I made and wind noise is no longer a problem. Air wings also help but to a lesser extent by far. F4 made for a happy wife that also included less head buffeting.

Re: need help...no dash lights when key turned to on...

Take a wrench or screw driver and physically tighten the wires to the battery, that would be the first priority for me as it solved the same issue a while back. Those connects can get loose over time.

Re: Group Rides

Only thing I enjoy about a group ride is the conversion at lunch when we stop. Not having to know the exact route is nice also but instead of concentrating on the route I'm concentrating on potential hazards with the other unknown riders and conditions in general. I like riding alone most but those ...

Re: 2008 GPS Update Questions

Just looked at the update which is only new maps and waypoints. The version on the new SD card is 2019.10 which is already old. The current maps from Garmin is 2020.10. Honda also states it may be the last update available which is ridiculous. I highly recommend you learn how to update the system on...

Re: 2008 GPS Update Questions

I just completed updating my 2015 GL1800 using byoung85's PDF download and it worked like a charm. I now have all the files he mentioned and the most recent maps 2019.30 on my bike navigation. Thank you very much Mark, it is a god send. By the way I updated the GL1800 SD card twice as an experiment....

I had to reply because I also have the same Accutire and Jaco FlowPro gauges. Both have been working for over a year now but I only keep the Accutire Gauge for overnight trips and the Jaco is for my air compressor. The one additional thing I have on my tires that has made checking pressure 100% easi...

Re: 2008 GPS Update Questions

You all are not alone, I have a 2015 GL1800 with Navigation only because I had to buy it in order to get ABS brakes. The last update to the maps were in 2016 and nothing else has or will come out. When I think about Honda's business practices I get really mad and will probably change brands in the f...

For what it's worth, the best way for me to cool off while riding is by using the adjustable hand and lower Air Wings that I bought from Cycle Giant. I open the hand and 1st of the lowers which gives lots of air directed at me to cool off. Cooler to cold weather and they stay closed which reduces th...

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

Navigation Maps - does anyone know what Garmin maps are being used in 2018 model? I have a 2015 GL1800 with Navigation that came with Garmin Map version 2014.2. In the fall of 2015 Honda offered an upgrade to Map version 2015.2. I was told that I would have to buy the upgrade even though I purchased...

So the same thing happens to me in the winter months and this is what I think is happening. First I have a lot of tire pressure gauges and each one reads tire pressure differently. When I take day trips, I come home and clean my shield with Novus Plastic Clean&Shine #1 which works great. When I go on trips with the wife for 2-4 weeks, space is at a premium since I don't attach a trailer. Last year we traveled 24 of the lower 48 states over a month. This was in June and the...

I'm a 6'4" guy with a weight that goes between 205 to 220. I ride a 2015 GL1800 now and the one thing above all others modifications that has made me love this bike is to change the seat. The stock seat did jam my legs and was uncomfortable on long rides because of what I call crotch squeeze of...

Re: GL1800 Sun Visor for OEM Navigation Display

Just as a follow up the GL1800visor is adjustable depending on where sun is in the sky. The hook and loop that is located on either side of visor can be unhooked and using the top of visor as a hinge you can position the angle of visor up or down before reattaching the hook and loop sides. There is ...

GL1800 Sun Visor for OEM Navigation Display

Thought I would give a heads up for two products that are intended to help shade the Navigation display for viewing. The first one I tried was a Vizon-X sold through wingstuff.com. The idea was good but execution was lousy in that it does not fit the recessed space on the fairing. I tried two of the...

Re: side stands and mounting your bike

I'm a righty and my preference is mounting and dismounting from the right on a GL 1800 and this is why. When the bike is parked on side stand the angle of the seat is to the left. Have you ever dragged your right foot across the seat or hit the gas tank while mounting or dismounting. My theory is it...
