Re: Passengers storage compartments

I like the looks of that. If my wire gives out, I'm going with that too.

Re: Carburetor flooding

I'm sure there are products available that do the same thing. There are some that make their own home brew version of seafoam. Maybe that will help. Here's a link to one

Re: Passengers storage compartments

When I did mine, I initially intended for it to be a "temporary" fix. Now, I don't see any reason to change it. It just works :D

Re: Carburetor flooding

Now that you fuel flowing correctly, it would be good to start running some seafoam through those carbs to get rid of any leftover gunk that may be lurking. Maybe run a half can with your next 2 fill ups.

Good time to change the plugs since you have access to them. :D

Re: Passengers storage compartments

I don't see why not. The wire I used was about the same as a paper clip. It's essentially the same thing. I went through the holes with it and tightened it on the inside of the compartment and it's tucked down underneath. Can't even see it.

Re: Passengers storage compartments

I had one of mine break off. So in a pinch I drilled tiny holes on each side and looped a wire through and twisted the ends. I figured I'd get around to replacing it. Well it's been like that for 2 years now, still opens and closes fine. And unless you really look or I point it out, you never even k...

Re: Electrical issue

First thing I would check are the battery cable ends and the battery terminals. Clean them with a wire wheel brush or sandpaper. Make them shine! :D

Re: Rear Brake Issue

Relief hole is plugged. Gotta be. Fluid is heating up and expanding, has nowhere to go but to push the pistons out.
If it's not plugged solid, there must be some crud in the line somewhere that eventually blocks it.

The belts wear, but don't stretch. If that's what you had coming off, and it ran good. I'd say you're good to go. Mine actually looked the same way when I changed them.

Re: Battery dry!

My opinion? Given the power hungry nature of the 1500s, I would just buy a new AGM battery and spare yourself any hassle down the road.

Re: Timing Belt Install Problem

Swap the position of the belts. If the right side won't fit on the left, but the left fits on the right, there's something wrong with that belt.

Nice, that's what it's all about. Me? I took 20 trips up and down the driveway with a snowblower. Had to stop and change a drive belt midway through. Needless to say, I'm jealous!

Re: Another "my radio is dying" thread

I'd be more inclined to think that rather than "muting" itself, there's a loose connection issue somewhere. Make sure that big connector to the radio is tight and look closely at each wire. Check for loose terminals on each of them, or something obviously not making a tight connection. Check the wir...
