Re: Knee Replacement Surgery...
Thanks Big Bob! I asked to have both knees done at the same time and I’m glad my Dr. agreed to it because I don’t think I could have mustered up the courage and determination to go through it a second time. Furthermore, my desire and thought to have them both done at the same time was so I didn’t ha...

Re: Knee Replacement Surgery...
Doing the P.T. is critical to full recovery! I had my double knee replacement surgery on January 21st and I have been doing my P.T. “consistently and diligently” with good results. I am already walking unassisted and I only carry a cane with me as security because I’m not at full muscle strength in ...

Re: 12” MadStad on 1999 GL1500
I got the 12 inch and it’s great! There is still plenty of adjustment room to raise it higher, but it is not necessary. The top of the windshield is at a level even with the bottom of my neck and performs great. I will never go back to the OE windshield.

Re: Knee Replacement Surgery...
I waited until I couldn’t tolerate the pain while standing snd walking. Now that it’s reached that point, I also have pain at rest. I’m scheduled to have both knees done on January 21. I expect to be ready to ride my 1500 by May.

Re: Wing has blacked out, won't start
I also added an accessory fuse block to my 2000 GL1500 a couple of years ago to power my Garmin Zumo GPS and iPod. I tapped into the power point on the bike’s fuse block to power the accessory fuse block. I mounted the accessory fuse block on the battery making it easily accessible. Works like a cha...

Re: Knee Replacement Surgery...
Great timing for this discussion! Thanks for sharing your stories. I am scheduled for a double knee replacement on January 21st. A total replacement on the right knee and partial on the left. Injuries (including getting rear-ended by a clown getting pursued by the police in September of 2017) and ag...

Thanks WingAdmin! I will do that today and coat the exhaust pipes with WD40 again after they cool down. Happy Thanksgiving and Motorcycle Off-season!

Re: How to winterize your motorcycle
I own a 2000 GL1500. I went through all the winterizaton steps, except running the carburetors dry. Would it hurt to start the engine again and run the carburetors dry after disconnecting the petcock vacuum hose and how long will the engine run after I do this? Or should I just leave well enough alo...

Re: 12” MadStad on 1999 GL1500
I will never go back to the Honda OEM windshield and if there’s ever a need to replace my Madstad because of damage, I’ll replace it with another Madstad. By the way, Honda Pro Cleaner and Polish is safe to use on the Madstad windshield as with all of the Tupperware and is the best product out there...

Re: 12” MadStad on 1999 GL1500
There’s plenty of height adjustment to raise it to your preference. I have enough height adjustment to raise it another inch and a half. I have it set at chin level now and I get no wind in the face. Follow the 60 degree recommendation. That’s perfect as it turn out. By the way, I have a 1500 as I’m...

Re: 12” MadStad on 1999 GL1500
Get the 12 inch. It performs as advertised. A 14 inch would be too high and defeat the purpose of the reason you’re replacing the OEM windshield.

What are the torque specs for the water pump mounting bolts for a 2000 gl1500SE? Turns out mine is now leaking from the weep hole and. Needs replacement. Thanks everybody for the information previously and for the torque specs I’m sure someone here will have.

They’re great! They even illuminate street signs in the middle of the day. Most importantly, everyone else on the road can’t miss seeing me. I highly recommend them.

Re: Madstad Windshield and LED Lights
I don’t want to mess with all of that. The Honda Pro Cleaner is great for all of the ABS plastic and I used it on the OE windshield with no issue and it worked great. I would prefer to use it I the MadStad windshield for convenience sake, but I need to know if it’s safe. I’ll call MadStad if necessa...
