Re: RAM X-Grip Handlebar Mount

I would suggest for the folks that don't have a waterproof fone..a resealable sandwich bag to put the fone in... touch screen still works- keeps it dry..

Re: Honda disgraced themselves with the 2018 Goldwing

Wow!.. creature comforts- storage, sound systems, WiFi- Bluetooth, GPS. Well at least the GW has a heater. Some still think a motorcycle should be loud, uncomfortable and scare you to death occasionally. I prefer a comfortable seat/position. Reliability. and ease of getting on/off. Anything else you...

Re: The idiots are out there

Sitting at a left turn light in the 80's, in 6 road intersection, so notorious for bad driving and blocking the intersection- that a cop was directing traffic- patiently waiting my turn to turn left- and I notice this headlight getting closer and closer to my leg. I am in the right tire track...on a...

Guys- I read a lot of situations here that could have been fatal... because the rider PUT HIMSELF into that situation. Ride like everybody on the road want to run you down, and every one behind you wants to run you over. I cross a freeway bridge frequently- same woman in a minivan comes to the light...

Re: Heartbroken...rust

In Jacksonville, 1969, my new VW got a rock chip. In 2 days it was rusted!!.. Salt will eat up metal.. Florida is surrounded by salt water... ride in FL, wash your bike.. let it dry or do the blower thing to dry it off. keep it waxed.

RE: shutting off after 3 seconds of idle... I drove a rental Ford- that drove me nuts until I figured out that I could raise the idle speedup just a tad with the gas pedal(automatic) and force it to keep running. Not sure if that 'll work with the 6 speed..

3 exercises for carpal tunnel... help to prevent carpal tunnel. The repetitive work builds up the muscles and tendons, and the 'tunnel' is limited in size- causing the sheath of the nerves to erode. stretching the tendons, goes a long way to prevent problems and delay surgeries. "themainviking"... interesting- and US riders cross the border, and ride with 0 experience? Texas heat doesn't help them. I had one that would pop out at 70mph. Had to hold it with my leg until i could stop. New rubber grommets fixed it. Didn't know about the retention kits.

Re: Trike

MOTOR TRIKE makes or made a kit that bolts to the frame- leaves the drive wheel on the GW-- ergo=- 3 wheels in the back. I wouldn't ride one on a bet.. BUT, MOTOR TRIKE makes GOO, REAL conversions as well. I'll bet the 'dealer' was referring to the frame bolt on kit- he may not know the difference. ...

Re: Warning about Scam on selling your wing

When I was looking for my GW.. I saw SEVERAL ads in Cycle Trader that were suspicious. pictures the same- just different locations, prices too low- same descriptions, word-for- word- one of my complaints about these selling sites- even eBay- is that it is so hard to research SOLD items- to see what ...

FM-usa-- Bless your heart!! there you go using logic and facts and then... throwing in PROOF ! That is the kind of information we need to make an informed opinion. I can pretty much guarantee that any tire manufacturer is NOT going to recommend a CT for use on a MC- no more than any MC tire co is ab...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Looks like it is about tread, profile and application. If you are a canyon carver,MC with a round profile would be desired also road racing. Touring? What works and is comfortable. Don't expect the tire mfgr to support cross use or even acknowledge it exists. Nor should you expect to have a CT failu...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Paulcf-- likely due to liability issues. a car tire is for a car.. a MC tire is for a MC. The tire mfgs do not test their car tires on MC, nor do the test the MC tires for auto applications- although some of the little Smart cars might qualify- the old Isettas, etc. CT on a MC? that is a riding styl...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Switch to a Trike... you get car tires on the back for traction, stopping power with larger contact patch, x 2 and run a REAR tire on the front, mounted backwards.. that's what I was told by the Trike manufacturers..
