Re: URGENT: Bike SUDDENLY won't start???????!!!!!!!!

1500's and batteries are fickle. When I bought mine- the seller had not turned the key ALL THE WAY OFF- . He bought me an AGM because it came already fully charged. I keep mine on a batery tender- It started great when I took the Trike to a shop to have some work done on it. about 8 miles. Two days ...

Re: Dogs that chase motorcycles

1- DO NOT KICK AT THE DOG..The dog can bite faster than you can kick. 2- get your feet up as high as you can- accelerate away from the dog- If you were just putting0along and the dog runs out- you can do 1,2 and out run him... if you are at speed (30-40mph-) the dog usually will be coming from behin...

Re: How to Open a Trunk with a Jammed Latch

I have a shop to repair it.. make it work... But this is a repeat thing. I am interested in changing the lock to just the keylock - no more levers and cables and coathangers bent to pull on the bar or nylon wire ties to pull on the cables. Just lock it and unlock it with a key.

Re: Suggestions for intercom/phone/CB headset?

It looks like this is a step in the right direction, but $400 for the whole package is a bit steep. LOL!... you got an answer and don't like the price? Ok, you meant- ask for the world and get it CHEAP.. I would seriously recommend you go with the good stuf regardless of the price.. you get what yo...

Re: How to Open a Trunk with a Jammed Latch

OK... My trunk has had issues since before I bought the GW. PO put it in the shop(warranty) for it not unlatching by the levers. Me, too. It lasted about 40 miles. A local shop fixed it. lasted a long time, until it didn't, again. Now the top trunk won't open and the bottom won't lock. I am tired of...

Re: Darkside: No Taxi Tire...now what?

WingAdmin makes valid points. IMHO- do what you want. Run what you like. My original point about tire manufacturers is that they will NOT say "sure put that car tire on your motorcycle"... their lawyers won't let that happen. the car tire is not designed for motorcycles- would you put moto...

SLOW riding practice around cones.... look for where the local Riding school/class is held visit and watch. Preferably take the course! but practice the low speed- turns- lock to lock- over and over and over. AS you get more confident- you'll ride better. A replacement horn LOUD.. is always a good i...

Re: high mileage vs age

MAINTENANCE. MAINTENANCE. MAINTENANCE. Age means little if the maintenance has been done regularly. Mileage means little if maintenance has been done regularly. That said- I usually buy LOW mileage over NEWER vehicle with higher mileage. ex: 1991 Lumina 6 years old 68,000 miles. v 1989 Buick Regal w...

Can someone tell me the average mileage i should be getting on my rear tire. I ran a Bridgestone g702-160-80-16 and got 7500 miles on it. Don't know if that is good or bad? IS THERE ANY TIRE THAT WILL GIVE ME BETTER MILAGE ON MY 1995 1500 wing? I have never checked my milage before ,I just replaced...

Re: Darkside: No Taxi Tire...now what?

WHY put an auto tire on a M/C ? is it price? ok..what is your life worth? $20-$30? Is it tire wear? (also PRICE) no tire manufacturer - none, zip, nada- bupkiss- will sign off on an auto tire on a m/c. The sidewall is the issue. Car tires are not made to lean over like bikes. Yeah, yeah. I know- it'...

Had a backoff setup to wigwag on my bike for awhile. Worked good and never had any issues with LEOs. It was actually the opposite. Re: No Ethanol Fuel

Our local Marathon station has a separate no-ethanol fuel (which is also premium, unfortunately, so expensive!). I use it for my small engines as well as in the motorcycles when they go away for the winter. I use a fuel stabilizer and RxP fuel additive. Haven't seen any non-ethanol fuel in D/FW are...

I agree with one another post. I bet texting while driving was involved. I see it all the time. Yep, in the UK, the zipper is on your left when wearing the jacket/coat/hoodie/cardigan/tracksuit-top. Doesn't matter whether male or female. Has been like this to my knowledge for at least the 48 years I have been on the planet, and maybe twice that long. Just like driving in the UK; it's on the '...

Re: First ride after rebuild

if you trim the seat...and once you have set the height you like- look into a CUSTOM seat, designed FOR YOU.. not cheap, but comfort and rideability are worth it.
the shorter shocks/Fork springs will help maybe even a rear tire with a lower sidewall profile?

Re: Rattling in cylinder

back in 1965 I saw a new Chevy engine out at a dealer.. 1 piston remained intact. the other 7 were shattered. a screw from the carb had made it's way into the engine and managed to bounce around enough to trash 7 cylinders. Car had 17 miles on it. Not yet been sold
