I’ll never go back. One of the best improvements I’ve made, for the performance of the alternator and the life of the battery. Brighter lights are an added plus.

Re: Kickstand kill switch
There is a little finger on the back of that switch that slides into a hole at the top of the side stand which rotates the inside of the switch back-and-forth for on and off. Best to do with the motorcycle on the center stand. I’m sure you knew that. No, I didn't know anything about the switch. The...

Mr. Dufus: I had the same issue and removed the switch, cleaned it, lubricated it and reinstalled. It has worked flawlessly since. I really like your new alias. :) Dan Thanks. I have to remove it to clean it? What is there to clean? where the bolt goes through? I see no other contact. Thanks ...

What Mike said. You are probably going to find either a loose connection or corroded terminals somewhere.

I have 2 Slipstreamers. One has 5 inches cut off and used in hot weather. The other is full height and put on when the weather starts to get cold. I can’t look over the tall one but it keeps me warmer. Both have vents. This is a pic of the short one

Re: Parting out '95 Magenta Wing
4given Do you have the left side fairing shelter. As you can tell by the pictures the shelter is not perfect. The tab is broken where it fits under the left pocket. So that is not noticeable once the pocket is in. It also has a small scar by the lower vent opening. I sold off the vents so you would...

Spot-on, thanks!! I have the bushing, just not the pivot. You could spend a month's salary on little parts like this, they add up fast. Fortunately I think I have a guy that can make one. On a related note, could you explain how the anti-dive mechanism works? When you get on the brakes, the top cal...

Re: "98 GL1500SE Rear Tire Noise after Replacement
I have heard of some owners that zip tie that little flap back so it doesn't contact the tire tread. It probably only has to move a small amount to clear. You may have to remove the tire to get to it to tie it back. Russell I think it can be accessed through the top after the seat is removed. Winga...

If I remember correctly, there are tabs on the inside of that cover that you can access if you remove the pocket above it. You have to be careful because those tabs are kind of brittle.

I think Rambozo was referring to a condensation issue which can happen anytime there is a change in temperature. If you search “GL1500 LCD display repair/replace” on this site there is a wealth of discussion on the subject.

Re: Intermittent bad ground?
Totally agreed that dielectric grease is an insulator. Disagree on the usage though. Clean metal contacts coated with grease in halves of a connection plug will scrape against each other displacing the grease with metal-to-metal contact when you push the plugs together, leaving the remainder of the...

I go over mine with compressed air after a wash. Every place where water can collect and hold.instrument panels, all handlebar switches, spark plug holes, etc. It doesn’t need to be high pressure. And I never pressure wash.

Fuel shutoff valve and vacuum line to it? You can bypass it it to see if it is functioning properly or not.
