Re: engine misfires

Check the carb’s choke plunger, when you push choke off. I had a case that left carb plunger stayed a bit open. Was a choke cable /carb mechanism issue.

Re: sporadic fuel issue

I had about similar symptons when I had placed an extra tube from carbs ventilation pipe to down under bike (that’s a no no...). But it appeared always just when raining, I think tires threw water and maybe blocked the tube end and ventilation for carb bowls failed. Yours is most likely missing fuel...

Re: Getting a 93 Aspencade running after 4 years sitting

Found this in https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=19833 Not sure why on some bikes there is just enough clearance to easily maneuver it free, and on others, the frame is in the way. In any case, some owners have had to remove a couple of the frame-to-engine mounting bolts, then gentl...

Re: Radio mute by itself...

Again mute returned by itself, took off radio and finally found the reason (I hope). 4E42E43C-2F77-4014-953E-BD3E5BA5F0CD.jpeg White wire was the cause, I don’t know its purpose/function but I replaced it and no mute anymore when I wiggle these wires. Maybe somebody radioguru could tell what that wi...

Re: Not a Good Day at the Gas Station (need a part)

Has it been easy to get paint with code yr149m? Here in a shop I`ve been buying spray, they don’t have books for the recipe (yr149m) for Honda MC’s age 80’s. So they have made it manually, I have showed sidepanel. Then last time there were older guy behind desk and he said let’s look old Honda cars ...

Re: fuel, ignition or worse peoblem?

Any updates on this? Well, I don’t know really how it would act. I have just tested how it behaves (idle) when vacuum is missing. I replaced all hoses three years ago (first winter maintenance) after reading all possible hints&tips to update an old 1500 wing :) Since then wing is been ok. I just mad...

Re: fuel, ignition or worse peoblem?

If you follow that vacuum line from ECU, you should find a t-connected short vacuum hose in that ORN line. It has a plastic plug what you can remove. I don’t know if this is originally made for service. It is somewhere visible in right side. While back I tested mine and removing vacuum from ICU (88-...

Re: Fork Oil Change

When I refurbished completely my OEM front forks 2 years ago, I made diy removal tool, drilled holes to caps and made threads and placed screws with seals. Now it is super super easy to change fork oil ;)

Maybe I should move to Progressives, at the moment I don’t know what I’m missing :D

Re: GL 1500,89

One note, it is good to check how accurate your trip meter is (if you follow that to calculate consumption) I have US wing, but after checking miles on trip meter vs actual with gps, one mile in trip meter is 1.51 km in my wing. NOT 1.61 km like it should be by the books :) Usually I get 6-6.6 litre...

Re: Choke on by mistake... broke few plugs

My wing seem to be sensitive :D If I leave choke on a bit, it kind of backfires in the exhaust. Always done that. Usually I can keep choke on less than 30 sec. I had an issue of too rich float level 1 1/2 month ago (made by myself  ), maybe that already effected to plugs... I could try NGK Irid...

Choke on by mistake... broke few plugs

Yesterday I was in mc meeting for a cup coffee :D Before leaving, I rised windscreen. I must have pushed choke on about 1cm... I drove highway about 10km, stopped at traffic lights and noticed how poor it was idling. Well, pulled over and finally noticed the choke was on. Set it off but idle was not...
