Re: Alternator shaft washer

First time post. Put this on somewhere else but can’t find! Ignorance is bliss! 👍 1993 Goldwing SE Computer Fire Alternator Out The alternator went out and is being rebuilt. My specific question relates to the picture. It looks likes there is a rubber washer in the center of the picture around what...

Re: '99 GL1500 chirps like a bird at idle after warmup

I had a similar problem when I bought the bike. It was starting after warm up. Here is the video record of the sound, and the link for details. https://www.goldwingfacts.com/threads/gl1500-odd-engine-noise-solved.626025/#post-4814049 Also, I added a picture drawing of the pulley bent causing the noi...

If you had added a picture of the missing part/place it would be easier to find a solution.

Re: Crank no start 98 GW se w/ 59,000 mls

I have been surprised by how susceptible these bikes are to even a slightly marginal battery. I ride the bike constantly year round. Went out one day I think in March after having ridden the day before and the bike cranked, and I mean cranked fast and strong, but wouldn’t even try to start. I looke...

Re: Coil removal - question on coolant reserve tank

I am just wondering how you decided to replace the coils? Have you measured the primary and secondary resistances of the coils, if so, would you share the readings?

Re: Crank no start 98 GW se w/ 59,000 mls

Can it be something related with the work in the timing belt area? Since you mentioned you have changed the timing belts, loose/broken/damaged pulse generator wires may be the culprit.

Re: Alternator shaft washer

All’s well. Got put back together yesterday and seems to work properly. My next problem is I need a Speedometer Assembly 37205-MN5-008 for a 1993 Goldwing SE, which is for the trip odometer which won’t reset. It records mileage, numbers not lined up, but won’t reset. If you open up the speedometer ...

Maximum Power: 25mW

You can not use speakerphone output pins of the radio.
There must be a 3.5mm earphone plug on the radio to use for your helmet speaker.

There should be color strips on the tubes. What color are they?

Does anyone know if the rubber tool kit strap for the 1500 was changed for the 1800? In other words, can I use a strap from the 1800 in my 1500?
I am not sure it will fit or not, but it seems that the one on the GL1800 is about 2 inch (5 cm) shorter (18cm-23cm)

Ok if j connect rear speakers too 3,4,5 on helmet pin Iit will work ?
#3 is the ground pin and you will use it for both left and right speakers, and the others accordingly.
But, what is the watt capacity of your device and headset? You may blow the headset.

Re: Gauges and Indicator Lights

With a limited information given, it is hard to find the exact issue. But there are two ground connectors on the left and right side of the bike which can create such strange issues.
Here are the pictures of the left connector, right one is just similar to this one.

When you feel the vibration, you can pull in the clutch to isolate the problem whether it is caused by engine or drive system.

Here is a part of the lights diagram showing the wiring of the instrument cluster lights.
You should check the voltages and the ground wiring at and after the C66 connector, which is behind the instrument cluster.
