Re: GL1500 SE passenger footrest adjustment cable missing parts
I had disassembled the foot warmer cable joint piece which looks similar to that piece.
There is a white plastic round piece (roughly 5mm thick) inside which has two grooves on the sides and a hole in the center to attach the cables.
You can easily make one I think by yourself.

Re: Headlight assembly lense removal
If I remember correctly, after cleaning roughly with a knife, I used thinner to clean the residue.
Also, I used the black sealant since I couldn't find the gray one, and had no cosmetic issues.

Re: Headlight assembly lense removal
I had to disassemble the lens 5 years ago. I had used a heat gun to heat up the lens and it came out easily after 5-10 minutes. By the way, when heating the glass lens, heat spreads along the lens almost evenly. The sealant is something like below in gray color. I had to replace the sealant, most pr...

Re: GL1500 SE start issue
Here is the solution that I have found five years ago, and have been still using the same lead acid battery without any problems. In summary, after this modification you will see that if the engine can crank over then it will start. https://www.goldwingfacts.com/threads/gl1500-starts-after-releasing...

Here are the diagrams for 89-90 models (black and white) and 93-2000 models (color).
Note that there may be wiring harness differences since the rear speakers were optional on 89 models.

Re: Speedometer
If the brass bushing under the speedometer is stuck due to debrie or dirt, the cable can not spin freely, and it causes the cable to twist inside.
This may be causing the plastic gear damage.

You could try to adjust the bracket that touches the switch before ordering a new switch. You should hear a click as you move the lever up and down.

There are two methods; one using the radio circuit and the other using the tape circuit.

Re: Hazard light Issues
One of the contacts of the switch might be sticking or, not making contact properly.
I would check the switch assy again. Also there should be (if I remember correctly) small springs under the contacts, check them in place and at proper length.
