does the clock get power from the radio?
According to the wiring diagram the backup voltage from fuse #13 goes to the radio and cassette player.
And a black wire from the radio and cassette player goes to the clock of the LCD.

Re: Contact for Blackwing Eng.

If you can't find the correct bolt, you may want to find a bolt like below, cut the threaded section and die the metric size on the unthreaded section. Or a machine shop will do it for you.

Re: convert metric to imperial on cluster

Thanks for the reply. It just seems so low, having the rear suspension at 4 kg/cm2 I see. Are you adjusting the pressure while the bike is on the centerstand? The pressure will be wrong if you are adjusting when the wheel is touching the ground. Have you replaced the suspension oil? The incorrect a...

Hi Guys,
Any idea how to convert the dash from metric to imperial.
I'm especially keen on changing the onboarding air pump readings to read PSI for the rear suspension.
Thanks,
Steve
I would not care about what the unit is, just know the maximum pressure number and adjust accordingly.

I wish you have ordered the bigger size boot for Valkyries shown below. I had to replace it one year later because it was torn apart again.

Re: My Take on Shifter Brace

I posted this before on another thread. I've made several pieces of my shifter help according the dimensions in the following drawing. It's easy to do at home with 8mm thick and 20mm wide aluminium, but you can use steel too for smaller dimensions. Aluminium is easier to work with at home imho. Use...

Re: Right side lower trim

I think you are looking for the piece #22/10 in the following links. Partzilla is a good place to find OEM parts. Note that this part will be different for SE and Aspencade models. For SE, https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1998/gl1500se-a-gold-wing-se/step For Aspencade, https://www...

Re: Crazy Starter Issue

FWIW if the "A" relay sticks again, you can stop the starter motor by lifting the reverse handle slightly (just enough to actuate the switch on the lever). Careful, don't pull it all the way to engage reverse gears with the starter spinning, but just enough to actuate the switch. That will interrup...

You will lose the air because you will use the same port where the air hose is connected when replacing/adding oil.

Re: Neutral light off when key is on.

The neutral light gets the +12v from the reverse lever switch, and the ground from gear position sensor via the reverse diode assy as shown below.

So you should check not only the +12v but also the ground circuit of the light.

Re: 1500 no start

Won't start in reverse.... I was pointing to the possibility of the "A" relay sticking, you can move the reverse lever to disable the "B" relay to stop the starter from spinning if the "A" relay sticks. So if your starter is stuck "On" again, instead of disconnecting the battery to stop it, see if ...

Re: Front right wheel cover fouling

Those brackets are quite soft and easily bent when loosening or tightening the pinch bolts.
You can check the gaps by looking from the front of the bike to the gaps between the front wheel discs and rim covers.
You should see the discs are out of the covers and see the gaps are equal on both sides.
