Re: 2000 GL1500 SE & issue with hose for compressor to fill tires

Then you should check the outlet hose up to the compressor behind the left saddlebag. It may be bent or damaged.

By the way, can you get air out when you push the needle inside the valve, while operating the outlet function?

Re: 2000 GL1500 SE & issue with hose for compressor to fill tires

Remove the needle inside the air outlet schrader valve.
When not running the air pump, and when the bike is not on the centerstand, does the suspension pressure read on the LCD decrease?

I suspect the suspension valve under the trunk, behind the right saddlebag stays open all the time.

Re: GL 1500,89

The consumption of my bike is 5.0-6.5 lt/100km, according to the last 2 year records. I've never gotten that kind of mileage! 5.0 l/100km works out to 56 mpg, 6.5 l/100km is 44 mpg. I get 40-45 mpg, which is from 6.3 to 7.0 l/100 km. Wingadmin I think your lt/100km calculation is not correct. 35mpg...

Re: Clutch sight glass

Then you must have a leak at the slave cylinder. If the leak is not visible from the outside, it is leaking inside and mixing with the engine oil.

Re: How do I remove this??

If I am understanding correctly you are asking how to remove the rear fender #16 in the picture. You should remove or loosen enough one of the saddlebags, remove one of the lower corner piece and two nuts up behind the fender, the bottom cover of the trunk (to remove the saddlebag you should have al...

Re: 1500 headlight adjustment

The descriptions about the flat mirror is incorrect. It is an independent piece which does not have any adjustment. It only touches the bottom of the parabolic mirrors and moves up or down as they move back and forth.

Here is my recent post about headlight adjustment.

Re: Brake light replacement

I think, the confusion is because those lights are not OEM. Normally the rear turn signal lights are on the trunk only. Anyway, to reach the bulbs on the saddlebag you need to remove the two molding clips and the two screws behind them. Then the plastic cover under the light assembly can be removed,...

I had removed the right fan before, but I couldn't remember if I had removed the air duck piece or not.

However it is quite easy to remove the air duck piece, it has two screws, one is near the air vents and the other is under the right glove box.

Re: Instrument cluster problems

The N and OD light problems should not be because of the instrument cluster differences, however you should check the connectors for correct connection according to the circuit diagram. Also, old Honda models like Transalp had used 3 wire tachometer, so I am not hundred percent sure but, might be us...

Re: Instrument cluster problems

You will only need to get the 3 wire tach. And then follow the circuit diagram for its connections up to the ignition coil. Especially check the Yel/Blu wire since there may be differences through the connectors. The other two wires are ground and +12V, the ground wire is already there, for the +12V...

Re: Instrument cluster problems

For tachometer you should find and use the 3 wire one, which uses ignition coil pulses on 88 and 89 models. The 2 wire one uses the ECU signals, which is available on 1990-2000 models. For the N and OD lights, they should work if they are connected and bulbs are good, as far as I have examined both ...

Re: Rear suspension psi

For a correct reading the rear wheel should not be touching the ground according to the owners manual. That is why it should be on the centerstand. Re: PSI of rear shocks

Normally the rear suspension pressure should be adjusted when the bike is on the center stand according to the owners manual.

That means, if the rear tire is touching the ground, the pressure reading will not be correct.

So you should find a way to adjust the pressure on your bike.
