Re: Got around to taking a pic of the new girl

As much as I like my 1800 I think my 1500 was more comfortable t
and in the fastest color. Yes I know that isn't a 1500, just saying.

Re: Please tell who or what made you buy a Goldwing

Met my future wife back in 1972. We spent most of our dating on my 1956 Triumph so I suspected she was a keeper. Got married in 73 and she suggested we buy a new Cl350 Honda it was then I knew she was a keeper. Flash forward and many bikes later, while planning our 30th anniversary with a trip to Ha...

Re: Stolen Biker Poem... I thought it was neat.

Good poem. 155000 on last wing, and I rode it there. It was on a tow truck twice, once because I was rear ended, once for a failed alternater.

Re: Has your Wing ever left you near stranded....

My 89 quit after going over railroad tracks. Loaded the bike on a friends truck to take it home, wouldn't you know it started right up when we took it off. Turned out the hot wire on the fuel pump broke off and would make intermittent contact, had to solder it back on and good to go. The alt went ou...

Re: Do you have a vintage ride??

Have a 81 Kawasaki KZ750 I bought new in 81. Sadly it has sat outside under a tarp for the last 15 years. It still ran 6 years ago and didn't look to bad. It will finally get to live in a garage this summer, and plans are to restore it over the next year.

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

In fifty years of riding I will admit that on a hot summer day to not wearing a helmit. As I've gotten older and hit twice, I realize how precious life is and always wear a helmit. Of course a helmit does not guarantee you won't be hurt or worse in an accident, but at least I will still have a prett...

Re: Don't believe it when they tell you....

i try to never go to a dealership. prefer to do my own maintenance. i rely on my own ability and goldwing docs for help. welcome aboard. I'm the same way, I trust myself and the bike only has gone in for recalls. Last bike I sold, it's complete history went with it, along with my phone # and encour...

Re: 2001 multiple issues all at once

It sounds like your problem may be the ground lug that has four or five ground wires attached to it, and it is bolted to the frame. Sadly if that is your problem the only way to get to it is by removing the gas tank. Fred Harmon has pictures of it. http://www.pbase.com/fredharmon/gastank Hope yours ...

Re: Please tell who or what made you buy a Goldwing

Started riding when I was 14, mostly Honda scrambles and an old Triumph 200 Tiger Cub. Got married shortly after high school and with the wedding money we bought a new 72 CL350 Honda. Knew the wife was a keeper right then. Owned several new Hondas and my favorite a KZ750 Kawasaki over the years. For...

Re: WTB gl1800 left saddlebag

I have definitely looked on e-bay, but like you said most have no idea what color code they have, plus a lot of them are scuffed up pretty good. Some of the Trike shops don't want to ship them because they get damaged in shipping. May have to get another color bag and paint it.
