Not sure about the 1500, but on my 1800 I was able to install them fine without having to remove the saddlebag.

No, the 1500 also has 6 cylinders. You are thinking of the 1200 etc.

I have tried every tire I have been able the find on the market. Dunlop, Bridgestone, Avon, Metzer, Skinko, and Michelin that offers a tire size that will work on a GW. On the 1800 it's more important to replace/strengthen the bottom part of the triple clamp.

Well my 2009 oscillates, or hunts as I would describe it. Annoys me a lot, but don think I want to install a power commander just to fix that.

Of course the DeLorme is considerably more expensive: $380 for the unit and $420/year in subscription fees for service equivalent to the Spot. Text messages are 50 cents each. I don't believe the 1800 needs a fork brace. But what it does need badly is a much stronger lower triple tree.

I fitted one and it changed the handling out of sight. Search on other 1800 forums for buckskin. He makes a really nice looking one.

I've used a feeler guage to clean the seals many times. Only once have I had to go to the special tool, so that can get you on the road quicker. It's something you can do with a full on dirt bike. Not something you can do with any sort of road bike, particularly one that weighs as much as a wing.
