Re: Madstad windshield Review

I got a light smoked tint on my 2015 and love it! The adjustability to lower it and get more air in the Florida heat or raise it for more wind protection when riding up north in cooler weather or rain is the best! At 5'7" I got the shorter shield and can see thru it at all but the highest setting wh...

Re: Shoei Neotec II Helmet - First Impressions

Really like the helmet but I already have a great pair of Sena20s headsets... They wont fit on the new Neotec2 and I need to get 2 helmets since the wife rides with me a lot now. So another what $500 to $600 for the SRL's ??? We are then close to $2000!!! No thanks! Shoei should have left the comm d...

Re: Rear shock Progressive spring install

Goldwinger365, Congrats on your install! I too had installed the Progressive Monotubes in the forks, and the spring was the final touch. If I were to do it again I'd pull the tank and pull the shock out the top. But what a difference the suspension work makes on the Goldwing! Very smooth and control...

Re: Rear shock Progressive spring install

Just 4 bolts and raise the tank a few inches makes all the difference. The main issue is getting the bike high enough to get the shock out the bottom. Glad it's done! :)

Rear shock Progressive spring install

After 10 months of procrastinating I tackled the Progressive rear spring install today. Had the bike torn down for other scheduled work. It was tough getting it out the bottom even with the tank raised slightly. But it helped gain access to the top 8mm allen bolt and 17mm nut. You can see the new sp...

Re: 2015 Maintenance

Well that was fun. Did the oil, oil filter, plugs and diff fluid change Saturday. Today took my time getting all the plastic parts off. I watched the video of the blue 2012 GL1800 by Joel Lund and the step by step check list from "another forum". Really only took about an hour to get to the filter i...

2015 Maintenance

Starting some maintenance items on my 2015 abs GL1800 this weekend. Got my care package from Wingstuff and ready to dive in. Oil, filter, plugs, diff fluid and magnetic drain plugs are no problem. This will be my first shot at the air filter change so that's my major concern. I watched a few how to ...

Good info here and I will give it a go Monday on my 2015. Viewed the Steve Saunders video and read the written check list above. Wish me luck! ;)

Bazzaz or Power Commander install to fix stumble and surging?

Has anyone installed one of these products to fix the off idle hesitation or surging issue? Both claim to adjust the fuel mapping issue and smooth out the power delivery. My 2015 GL1800 has had the stumble and then surge when accelerating from a stop since new. My passenger finds it annoying especia...

Re: 2008 GL1800 surge issue" cold or warm"

My 2015 has done it since new so I don't think is an issue of poor fuel, pressure regulator or vacume leaks. Many posts on other forums on this issue too. They all seem to agree it's an ECU fueling issue coming just off idle. I have never seen a post where someone has had the ECU worked on or instal...

Re: TPM Sensor - Battery?

Just replaced the battery in a tpms I got for a spare wheel. Used a video I found posted by dadztoy on goldwingfacts.com. Very simple process once you find the cr2032 batteries with tabs to solder to. He put a link to ebay in the writeup but you can find them with a search. I won't know how good my ...

Re: 1800 suspension

Been working to upgrade the soft suspension latey. Just did an install of the Progressive MonoTubes on my 2015 Goldwing ABS. Took me about 6 hours start to finish with cleaning all the parts before re-assembling. Fairly easy except for doing the fork seals without a seal driver. Got in a 60 mile tes...

Re: 1800 suspension

I have a 2015 ABS GL1800 and it is my first Goldwing and first one I've ever ridden. I'm 5'7" and 175 and my wife is 115. Having said that I find it has the same under-damped and under-sprung issues my 07 ST1300 had. I also have the rear preload at 25 for solo and 2 up riding and still find the bump...

Re: Bluetoothing a GL1800

I'm also using a pigtail 5-pin DIN to 3.5mm plug, connected to the AUX cable in the left fairing glove box, and connected this to the AUX INPUT of the SENA SM10 Bluetooth Stereo Streaming Unit, (that I mounted inside the LH Glove box). This connects via Bluetooth to our SENA 20S Bluetooth headsets. ...

Re: Adding an avatar to your profile

I keep getting this error,
The submitted avatar is 1310 pixels wide and 737 pixels high. Avatars must be at least 50 pixels wide and 50 pixels high, but no larger than 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high.

Update: I had to resize it in Windows 10, looks like it's working now! :)
