fuse for fuel pump

I installed a new pump on my 1984 Aspy, but am having trouble getting power to the pump. It might be the relay or is there actually a fuse for this. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Re: Gas blockage

I should have heeded your advice and stayed away from after market fuel pumps. I got one and it is pure junk. I was wondering ir anyone knows where I can get a used or new Honda pump. Also, does the pump have to be primed before using.

Re: Gas blockage

I took the old pump off and hooked it up to a battery with plastic tubing on the pump and into a pail of water. The pump ran but did not pump. I would have to figure the pump is shot. I am grasping at straws maybe but I think I will take the back off the pump and clean the points, you never know.

Re: Gas blockage

Thanks, pretty sure it's the pump. I ordered one on Amazon and hoping it's the problem. Pretty sure it's not the relay because the pump clicks when engaged but only spews out a little fuel. I can only hope that's the problem, if not switch to plan B lol

Re: Gas blockage

I confirmed that the line from the tank to the pump is clear. When I try to start the bike, the pump will not pump fuel.. When I let the starter button go, I hear a click and only a drop of fuel comes out. Sounds like my pump is on break lol

Re: Gas blockage

I just took the petcock off the tank and not a drop came out. I would think gas should have flown out

Gas blockage

I know this is a dumb question but here goes. I have a fuel blockage in my aspy. I took off the hose running to the fuel pump and it is clear. When I took off the line from the gas tank, no fuel came out. Is this gravity fed, or does the pump pick it up, thanks.

Re: No fuel.

Thanks for getti ng back. My bike has the electric pump. I traced the problem back to a clogged petcock. Again thanks for your reply.

No fuel.

Aspy back on the road. I was just about there when yesterday while I was running it in my garage I ran out of gas. Now it won't start. If I pour gas down the intake, it will burn that. I wonder if the fuel filter sucked up dirt or the fuel pump quit. Also, is there a fuse for the pump, any ideas?

Re: rear brakes

This is a great site. After bleeding what I thought was all the air out, I took someone"s advice and put a weight on the rear brake pedal and left it bleed over night. Got good brakes now, happy camper.

I just rebuilt the rear caliper on my 1984 Aspy. Now it won't bleed for me. I was wondering because it has integrated brakes, do I have to bleed the right front as well

air release

My project bike is a 1984 Aspy. I have it pretty well on the road but for one problem. The front forks have way too much air and the on board compressor will not release. How can I drain the air manually?

Re: gas leaking

Happy camper today. My son decided to take off the carbs and do them. Turns out it was not the carbs leaking but the fuel lines were leaking at the clamps "split" He cleaned the carbs and now she runs like a Goldwing should.
