Re: Tire rotation direction is wrong

There is a small decoration arrow on the tire. With the "rear mount only" stamp. So now I am still wondering if I should mount the tire forward or reverse? I am mounting it on the front of a GL 1500 Trike. Just not totally convince on which direction to mount it. Thanks for the info.

Re: Tire rotation direction is wrong

So, just a simple question about the BT-45 tire. Which way is forward mount and which way is reverse mount? Would forward mount be with the rain grooves pointing toward the front of the bike? There may be an arrow on the tire somewhere. But I do not see it. Thanks.

Re: GL 1500 difficult to start?

I have a 350 CCA AGM battery. No problem with cranking over the engine. I also charge the battery, every couple of weeks during the Winter. So turning over the engine is no problem. I understand about fuel taking time to get to carb. Guess I will just have to start it every couple of weeks during th...

GL 1500 difficult to start?

I have a 94 Gl 1500 SE Trike. The longer it sits, especially during the Winter, it takes longer to get it to start. Seems like the fuel has drained back into the tank? If this is the case, is there a filter, or other device I can add to the fuel line? To prevent the fuel from draining back to the ga...

Re: Servicing drive shaft

Not sure what year the bike was converted to a trike? It is the old style CSC trike conversion with a straight axle. The front of the drive shaft that connects to the tranny, looks like it should just slide off of the spline. The other end that connects to the rear end. Looks just like any older U J...

Re: Servicing drive shaft

I am talking about removing the drive shaft and replacing the u joint with a new joint. I thought I might find someone that has replaced their drive shaft. Just looking for information. But after looking at it, does not to appear very difficult. Looks like I will just need to move the real axle back...

Re: Alternator?? Not again!!!

I replaced my stock alternator with a Lactric alternator. I did this before my stock alternator went bad. I had already replaced the stock alternator once. I keep my good stock alternator as a spare. It stays with the bike. Don't want to be broke down again!

Servicing drive shaft

Thought I would throw this out there. I have 94 GL1500SE, with CSC trike conversion. Bike has around 54,000 miles on it. It has been said that I should service the drive shaft. Because of the age of the bike. I do not have any symptoms of drive shaft failure. But to set my mind at ease I figured I s...

Re: Cleaning the Mighty Goldwing....

I use pledge or even a generic brand of furniture polish to clean the windshield of bugs and stuff. I also use it to polish the wing. Quick and easy to apply and remove. Yes the bike also smells so fresh!

Windshield cleaner/Bug remover

I use lemon pledge or even a generic brand of furniture polish. Just spray it on the windshield, wait a couple minutes and wipe the bugs off. It does not scratch the plexiglass windshield. I also use it on my car's front bumper and headlights.

Re: Electricity 101 Part 3: Using Multimeters

My senior moment! A couple of years ago I replaced my GL1500 Alternator with an 85 amp Lactric alternator. Rode the bike but alternator output was never 13 + volts? It never failed to start and run. I also never went on any long trips? So I replaced bike's digital volt meter with a new digital one. ...

Re: How to winterize your motorcycle

Going to go for a ride Christmas Eve. May try to head out shortly New Years day. That is if it is not snowing. Would be a great way to start out the new year. Then put Sea Foam in tank and pull in garage. Remove battery and put it on charger every couple or three weeks in winter. Do some tinkering o...

Re: Tire Balancing Beads

I have a 94 GL1500 CSC Trike. I am replacing the front tire with a Battlax BT45R, (130/70-18 M/C 63H). Should about 3 ounces of the balancing beads be enough for that size tire? My rear tires are P205/70R14. I want to but beads in those tires as well. How many ounces should I use for the rear tires?...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I am 71 and have been riding for many, many years. I have owned Harley Panheads, Shovelheads and an dresser. I have been broken down on some of the nicest roads in America! Was not much fun sitting on the side of the road watching drivers wave at you as they drove by. So a few years ago I purchased ...

LActrical alternator output

I have a 94 GL 1500 with 85 amp LActrical alternator. It has been used very little since I installed it. That was a couple or three years ago. Output on bike digital gauge shows 12.8 to 13.1 while driving. I also checked voltage with my multi meter at home while running. It shows 13.2 to 13. 3 volts...

trailer hitch for 94 gl 1500 with CSC Trike

OK, CSC said that because I have a straight axle CSC trike, the hitch is obsolete? Means that they do not sell it anymore. Someone out there must know where to find a hitch to fit. I have actually built one out of angle iron. But it weights about 20 pounds. So I thought I would look for one made for...

Yes the CSC conversion has most of the drive shaft in a tube. Still does not appear to be a difficult job. Since I currently do not see any problem with drive shaft, this will be a next Winter's projects.

Food for thought

I have a 94 GL 1500 SE with CSC Trike. I have been told that the rear end is a modified Ford 3.0 rear end? Thinking about changing gears to below 3.0, if possible. I want to cruise faster with lower RPMs.
