Re: LActrical alternator output

I figured out what the problem was. When I installed the LActrical alternator, a couple of years ago... I did not connect the wire, that is covered with a boot!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wondered why I only had about 13.3 or less???? Now I know... I was removing the alternator and noticed that the w...

LActrical alternator output

I have a 94 GL 1500 with 85 amp LActrical alternator. It has been used very little since I installed it. That was a couple or three years ago. Output on bike digital gauge shows 12.8 to 13.1 while driving. I also checked voltage with my multi meter at home while running. It shows 13.2 to 13. 3 volts...

I can not seem to figure out how to add photos. I wanted to add some of my wing and other bikes I have owned. But I seem to be technically challenged? Any assistance please, and thanks as always.

trailer hitch for 94 gl 1500 with CSC Trike

OK, CSC said that because I have a straight axle CSC trike, the hitch is obsolete? Means that they do not sell it anymore. Someone out there must know where to find a hitch to fit. I have actually built one out of angle iron. But it weights about 20 pounds. So I thought I would look for one made for...

Re: Fully Synthetic Oil???

I have switched to fully synthetic in cars and bike. I really do not see that it is that much more expensive. Cheapest price around here is at Walmart. Also, by using fully synthetic, I can safely go longer between oil changes.

Thanks CrystalPistol!
Yes the CSC conversion has most of the drive shaft in a tube. Still does not appear to be a difficult job. Since I currently do not see any problem with drive shaft, this will be a next Winter's projects.

Food for thought

I have a 94 GL 1500 SE with CSC Trike. I have been told that the rear end is a modified Ford 3.0 rear end? Thinking about changing gears to below 3.0, if possible. I want to cruise faster with lower RPMs.

Re: 94 GL 1500 SE with CSC Trike, drive shaft removal

My drive shaft looks very much like the one for a GL 1500 that you have in the picture. I did not know about the OEM spring near the middle of shaft. As I can not see it. So I now believe I can remove the four nuts, attached to the horseshoe bolts. Push the u-joint forward to separate the rear u-joi...

94 GL 1500 SE with CSC Trike, drive shaft removal

Wanted to do a little drive shaft maintenance. Does anyone have any knowledge about a 94 GL 1500 SE with CSC conversion. How or what to do to remove the drive shaft. Looking at the drive shaft, rear section first. The rear u-joint is much like any rear wheel drive, car or truck. The u-joint has 4 ho...

Re: How to repack and tighten your steering head bearings

Before I check and repack the steering hub bearing I have a concern. I just want to be safe, and sure where to place the jack under the motor? Is it OK to place a piece of wood between the motor and the jack or lift? So that the jack does not touch the motor. It looks like in the picture, they are u...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I am 71 and have a 94 GL 1500 SE Trike. With currently, less than 53,000 miles on it! Iwent to a trike because of my height and love for big bikes. First I am 5' 6" tall 150 lbs. A two wheel Goldwing is too tall for me to balance. As are many other big bikes. No problem with a three wheeler. I can p...

Replacing the front fork seals on 94 1500 SE. I have heard that I can use a piece of PVC to drive the seals back on? Other than purchasing an actual seal slider. I have heard that a piece of PVC will also do the job. If so what size of PVC would I need? Motion Pro had the seal slider. But I would ra...

Re: Preloading caliper with fluid

Re: Preloading caliper with fluid

What I have already done: Turned wheel all the way left and even jacked up trike on right side. Just to be sure I had the reservoir above the banjo bolt. I also loosened up the banjo bolt to see if any air would come from it. I tied lever back and left it compressed all night. This morning I have ab...

OK, I have rebuilt the right front caliper on my 94 gl1500 se. Can't get the air out. I believe I need to reload the caliper? Re: Auto Tire on the Rear

I have a 94 GL1500 SE with CSC Trike conversion. I have often wondered about putting a car tire on the front? Since the trike does not lean near as much, as a two wheel bike does. I don't believe that the car tire could be much wider. But possibly a tire that is not as round would work. Also does an...

94 GL1500Se with CSC Trike Mufflers?

Since this seems to be the best source of Gold Wing info, I have a question. I am looking to replace the chrome mufflers on my 94 GL 1500 SE with CSC Trike conversion. The chrome is rusting. I am sure that there are chrome mufflers out there. If I could locate a source.

Thanks for any assistance!!!
