Re: Auxiliary Inut Jack

Well after many months of thinking about fixing my cassette deck (which would not work) I finally took the initiative and disassembled my unit only to find that the belt had come off. After putting the belt back on everything worked fine! I used the cassette "thingy" to sync my Ipod device and the m...

On top of it when you clean it is just something else to manauver around.
The next windshield will be without the vent!
Living in Wisconsin I doubt you would ever need a vent....but in Florida.....near 100 degrees??

Tire pressure on Dunlop Elite 3's

I know I saw somewhere on here that the recommended tire pressure per the manual caused some premature tire cupping problems. I had these problems and replaced my tires and would like to get some decent mileage from them. I know that you guys and gals probably know from experience what works best an...

Re: floor boards or pegs on a 1500

I had the Markland floorboards on my '93 1500 Aspy and really hated them as they were too high and too small for my big feet. I didn't like the distance between the heel and toe of the shifter ( too short) or the feel of the linkage. I just bought some Kuryakyn foot pegs and picked up a stock shifte...

Re: Can i add a vent to a ventless windshield?

Thanks for the reply! I kinda thought it was possible but didn't know if the plexiglass would stand the vibration of being cut without shattering. I wonder if I bought a vent if it would come with a template for making the opening?

Can i add a vent to a ventless windshield?

I have a '93 aspencade and the windshield is in nice condition but has no vent. I am very handy with saws and tools in general as I have been working in sheet metal for my entire life. Is it possible to cut a hole in my shield and add a vent? Living in Florida and having an extremely tall windshield...

Re: Stripped Bolt

About a week ago I finished up fixing my other problem with my neutral and OD lights not working proberly plus leaking oil . I followed your "Replacing the Water Pump" procedure. That is an excellent write up and pictures. Everything went exactly as you wrote it up. Obviously the person who had that...

Re: Stripped Bolt

Before you can do anything you have to figure out if the threaded hole is stripped, or just the bolt (or screw) that goes into it. If the threads in the hole look at least fairly good, I would buy a tap of the correct size and clear the threads, and try installing a new fastener. If the hole is tota...

Re: Auxiliary Inut Jack

I am looking for an aux audio input to the radio system. I have just bought a deal that my be what you are looking for! I got a cassette tape looking thingy (spoken like a woman....but not!) that you insert into your tape deck. It has a wire comming out of the edge of it that will (hopefully) come ...

Re: radio not enough

Try pushing the volume knob in on the CB to turn it off. If the CB is on the radio volume will be low Thanks for the idea, but we finally found the problem, thanks to another forum brother who suggested that there was an open bridge on the PC board. He was right on and we quickly solved the problem...

Re: 1992 Aspencade

It turns out that the radio IS connected to the speedo via the AVC which controls the volume when you are going at different speeds. When the speedo quits working, the radio loses its feed for the AVC and apparantly shuts down the volume. Fix your speedo and you will probably get your radio back.

Re: radio not enough

Found a new revelation in the wiring fiasco......the rear passenger headset plug had been removed by the previous owner so he did the only logical thing to do with the empty connector......he plugged it into the passenger radio control (unused on this model) connector. DUUUUUUHHHHHH!! I would think ...

Re: 1992 Aspencade

Interesting that the radio and the spedo quit at the same time. I think that they should be 2 separate entities? I am having a radio volume problem myself (not near enough to hear with bike running)......I wonder if they are connected somehow? My spedo works just fine though.

Re: radio not enough

No its not. Mine had some bad wiring like that. My fork light bars were wired half a__ed and my ring of fire had no ground which burn't 4 switches on top. I took down the panels and made me a new harness for them. Works great now! I think the wiring will be the culprit once we get into it. This guy...

Re: radio not enough

ya'll just put this cb in correct? Start from scratch. something is crossed somewhere that or the cb caused it. pull the cb out and start again and see if the radio starts working. long shot but best way to trouble shoot it. I misread your post.......the CB was already installed when I got the bike

Re: radio not enough

CHECK THE MUTE BUTTON! Bypassed the mute button....no difference. The wiring on this bike has been tampered with and in a big way. The guy who had it before me put a lot of extra lights on it and then removed them before he sold it to me. Go figure. I also find that if I lock the forks that the lig...

I'm sorry, also tell him to check the AVC knob. I am guessing your volume control knob is in the bad.
