Re: 1979 Goldwing Garage find

Update on my 1979 GW garage find: I loaded the cylinders with marvel mystery oil and let it sit for 2 weeks. I removed the plugs and the rear cover. The motor turned over freely. I have loosened the caliper bolts and am able to spin both wheels. Both mater cylinders will need to be replaced or rebui...

Re: 1979 Goldwing Garage find

I looked at the engine but I'm not sure which cover you mean to remove to turn the engine manually. I am assuming the bolt would be on or close to the center line of the engine or on the crankshaft. I see one place on the left side of the engine but not sure if thats the one your referring to.

Re: 1979 Goldwing Garage find

I am gambling on the motor. Guy told me it was running when he parked it. I am assuming an 80 year old guy wants to get in to heaven so lying would be out of the question. I have been wrong but who knows.

1979 Goldwing Garage find

I just picked up a 1979 GL1000 that has been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years. Its in excellent shape cosmetically but mechanically I am unsure. The rotors appear to be stuck as it is very hard to roll. The battery is stone dead, front master cylinder is dry. Any suggestions where to start ...
