Re: 2019 GoldWing

I had to wait for my 2000 GL1500SE to be 18 years old before I could afford it.... so that means I'll have a 2019 GL1800 sometime after 2037...

Re: 2000 GL1500 SE first ride report and Introduction

Mike congratulations one the new bike. You’re making me jealous. I picked up a blue 2000 GL-1500SE a month ago myself. (Replacement for a 1985 GL-1200 SE that was written off by insurance) Unfortunately I didn’t get it safetied or licensed before the snow flew up here, so I have not had a chance to ...

Re: Rest In Peace Pegasus

Sorry to hear of the sad end for your GL1200, but you're going to love your new GL1500! Thank you. I’m looking forward to finally picking up the GL1500. I’m just waiting for the insurance cheque to arrive so I can confirm the pick up. I’m going to miss the GL1200. It was a comfortable and easy ride...

Rest In Peace Pegasus

Well I had to say goodbye to my 1985 GL1200L today. I had an accident 4 weeks ago. Some impatient cager couldn’t wait for the pickup in front of him to finish turning right so he crossed the double yellow line and came at me. I swerved to avoid but the road was very dusty. The front wheel locked up ...

Odd issue with Cornering lights.

Hi So I have just swapped out all the turn signal and tail light bulbs for LEDs. I also changed and rewired the signal and hazard relays. Now when I indicate a turn, the cornering lights flash with the indicators, not stay on solid. The relays I used are a standard 3 prong electronic relay rated for...

What bulb do I need?

Hi.
Does anyone know what bulb is in the cornering lights for an 85 GL1200 LTD?
I can not find it in my user manual.

Thanks

Do I have a Fuel pump problem?

Hi. I just got back from an all day ride. When I pulled into the driveway I could hear my fuel pump. I shut off the bike. And restarted it. I turn on the ignition I can hear the pump run to pressurize the system and stop when it reaches pressure. I start the bike with no issues. But the pump starts ...

Re: Missing Rear Reflector

Actually after looking at pictures of the Aspencade I think the reflector with "Aspencade" on it is the one on the Tail bag.
I'm looking for the one on the fender under the licence plate, which has nothing on it.

Re: Missing Rear Reflector

Darn! That’s too bad. I have a Limited. I wouldn’t want to put the wrong badging on.

I actually think the piece that fell off my bike didn’t have anything on it.

Re: Missing Rear Reflector

Thank you for the offer, but unfortunately it’s not the reflector on the saddlebags I was looking for, just the one on the rear fender that goes between the bags.

But if I ever need bags I know who to ask. 😄.

Missing Rear Reflector

Hi. Would anyone have a suggestion on a replacement for the rear reflector between the saddlebag lights? Mine fell off yesterday, leaving behind the white plastic backing. I've found a replacement on ebay (Part number 33742-MG9-771) but don't like the idea of paying $30US for a flat piece of plastic...

Re: Fast Idle issue

I decided to just try adjusting the idle screw.
Got the bike idling at around 900rpm when warm.
We’ll see tomorrow if it starts when cold.

Fast Idle issue

Hi So I decided to tackle my fast idle issue but after doing a little test I’m not sure just adjusting the idle screw will fix my problem. When I start the bike cold it idles at 1100 rpm immediately. Within 60 seconds it’s up to 1600 rpm then as it warms up it rises to 2300 rpm, by the time the bike...

Re: What does every one do for a living?

I am a Producer for a local radio station. I’m 55, and only started riding 4 years ago. I lost my Dad in a motorcycle accident in ‘99 and my biggest regret is that I never got to ride with him. My first bike was an 82 Honda CB650C. Moved up to a 80 CB750C a year later. Then went new and bought a CTX...

LED Light conversion

Hi
I'm looking at converting Pegasus to all LED lights.
I'm not opposed to buying them individually, but I was wondering if anyone here had a lead on someone who sells an entire kit?
Thanks

Re: Battery not charging

I think this is good news.
Voltages across all three Stator wires are consistently 70v at 3000 rpm.

Looks like I only need to replace the R/R.
I have ordered a Ricks Motorsport R/R. Should be here in a few days.

Re: Battery not charging

Did you check the stator is producing AC voltage when the engine is running. You do this by disconnecting the stator wires from the system and checking for AC voltage - should be able to see at least 40 to 50 VAC between any two wire combinations and see it change as you rev the engine.. You should...

Re: Battery not charging

Replaced Stator connector with a weatherproof one. Still not charging. Replaced 30 amp fuse. Just because it only a $1.30. Checked Stator with ohm meter. No issues there. Checked Regutator/Rectifier with ohm meter Got infinite resistance between Green wire and yellow in the 8 wire harness, and near ...

Battery not charging

Took the bike for the first ride of the season. Noticed the voltage dropping. After a 50Km ride my voltage was down to 9 volts Got home and could not restart the bike after stopping it. First task this weekend is to replace the old spade connectors for the stator wires with weatherproof ones. (origi...
