Re: It’s time for tires which ones???

Elite 4 is a great choice. I was on E3's and got 19k. I am on the 4's now and seemingly on my way to similar results which include excellent handling and low noise. That, so long as you ensue proper care of your tires.

Re: Shelter Cover Color

Thank you for that link. I painted most other parts of the bike using Color Rite they are great. However, they do not list colors for parts considered trim panel or parts like the shelter cover.

Thanks again,

Shelter Cover Color

I've a blue 94 Interstate that needs some cosmetic touch ups. I've been able to get the paint scanned and correctly matched to the old paint. The issue I am having is painting the scheduler cover, the old one is broken. The replacement does not match the old and scanning doesn't because of the textu...

Re: Rattle can paint job

I did my bike with a rattle can as well. That said, it is beat to go to a good paint shop and have them scan the color of you paint. It is al but impossible to match the original color to the condition of the paint as it stands today with the original without scanning. Also keep in mind, with a can ...

Leaking Antifreeze, Help!

I am trying to track down a leaky radiator hose, I think. When the bike starts and is warming up steam starts to rise from top right side of the motor. Also, after a ride, I will walk out to the bike the next morning to find a small puddle of antifreeze. It is difficult to say where but I can see wh...

Re: stereo

I've been down this path so many times I am embarrassed to admit. That said, the approach I've taken is simple. We are riding motorcycles at speed, so fidelity is not possible though better sound is available. So, I chose the utilitarian approach and if changes require significant cost, $500 or more...

Re: Undisclosed Leak

Well, it is no longer a mystery! When it hits the floor it picks up dust and changes the color. It is antifreeze coming from a hose on the left side of the oil filter as I face the bike. Now, I guess I pull off the front and find the leak!

Undisclosed Leak

Hi All, It was a few weeks between ride for the old girl. Weather turned too cold to ride. When it warmed up I went out to get her prepped and found under the lower front cowling under the oil filter, a cloudy yellowish fluid. I quickly checked the filter and bottom of the bike but all was dry. I al...

Going Trunkless

Well, I'd like to anyway but keep the bike two up! Has any one here made this modification? Are the kits like there are for the 1800's? Or, are there instructions on how to do this?

Mine bike is an interstate. Is this lever you describe covered by the boot around to mirror? Because there are no levers on the outside as I've seen on other models.

Windshield and Muffler

Hi All, I have a Chrome Windshield Trim Panel that just doesn't lay flat where it attached by the connections point by the mirrors so it leaves this big gap on a 94. Any suggestions on how to correct that? Secondly, does anyone make chrome muffler covers to replace the stock ones? Cheers, Happy Memo...

LED Headlight Bulbs for 1994

I've read so many posts regarding which lights to choose for the 1500 depending on the reflectors in the casing I'm confused. The reflectors in my headlight case are smooth no angled panels. So which LED working on that setup?

Thoughts?

Cheers!

Battery Just Died!

So, I realize, up front, I am responsible. I took the bike out for a ride the other day. Bike started just fine. Then again after a refueling stop. Rode at hi-way speed for an hour before the next stop. Afterwards, I had to be jumped because it wouldn't start. Drove for another hour, same thing, dea...

CB Works?

Hi All, Back with another question, though its been a while. My CB works in that I can speak and people hear me and respond. The odd thing is that, new this year, I can only hear from the external speakers in the dash and not my headset. Both of my in helmet headsets work as I can listen to the radi...

Re: Best Way to Clean Wheels?

My 94 I purchased three years ago and they were in much wrose condition. I used a product call Gords from eBay. It really worked but it took some time to get rid of the oxidized aluminium and I used a polishing wheel.

Good luck!

Re: 95 Goldwing

I bought my 94 interstate four years ago with 32k on the odometer. Today, 58k and not one ounce of trouble. Look for the typical things others will suggest here that might include signs of fluid leaks, heavy soot at the tailpipe, corrosion, how's the motor run and sound, and maybe a service history....

Re: Lost my key

I don't know if this will help but here goes; I broke my key off in the ignition (94 1500). I called several locksmiths only one guy came out. He spent an one hour and quit. In the 1500's ignition, the wafers are very tight. I had to purchase a used ignition which, requires removing the fairing. As ...

Highway Speeds

Okay, this may seem like a silly question but I have to ask. My GL1500i is so much fun to ride. It handles well through the tight twisting roads in the canyons , strong acceleration, and I just love it! I recently moved to Colorado 30 miles from Utah and riders out here like to run 85 to 95 mph. My ...
