Re: FREE Caltric voltage regulator

I'll take it. PM sent with shipping address. Received your text but not sure if my text reply went through. My cell service is spotty here at the house and the message indicated "not sent" and I have no bars on my cell signal strength meter. Let me know what shipping cost will be and where/how to se...

Google foo turned up this:

The name is different, but that logo is a dead ringer and only one letter off. They may be able to provide some more info if you contact them.

Re: OMG Make it Stop!

I love your "Sent from my TRS-80" tag line.... is that a CoCo, Model I, Model II, Model III, Model 4, Model 4P, Tandy Model 100, 102, 200 or ummmm… Tandy 1000 or 2000 or 6000? LOL! That was almost 40 years ago and I am hard pressed to remember the actual sub-model. I know it was an early one (Model...

Definitely interested if they are for 7/8" bars. What did you use to adhere them to the bars when they were installed? Thanks.

Re: OMG Make it Stop!

Yeah, I've seen this on other forums. New user signs up and starts spamming away. Kind of a perfect storm with the new user signing up just as WingAdmin tries to take a weekend off.

That will teach ya!

Thanks for all you do here keeping this fantastic site going. :ugeek:

Re: First ride to work, first attempted homicide, against me

Had that happen to me once, mine was a much closer call. After that I had to train myself to look for the red light runner regardless of the vehicle I am driving so that it has become an "automatic" part of entering every intersection. This way it is not just something I have to do when on the bike,...

Re: Searching for a Rear Brake Master Cylinder

Mines not looking too good. Looks like the backing plate will have to be cut/ground in order to get the circlip out. Once the piston is freed I'll be able to better assess its condition.

Re: Need Rectifier & Wiring Harness

I'm thinking maybe if I just re-connect / resolder some of the connections, my under-voltage / charging problem might go away. Might be worth a shot, and it's free! Well, you might have to buy some heat shrink, but solid connections would at least rule them out as the culprit. Figuring out electric...

Goldskooler,
Bellefontaine? Holy cow, I grew up there!

If Cosmo doesn't have a useable one then I'll see what I've got. Hope your bike week outing goes well.

Where are you having it shipped from? If it's somewhere in the Southeast I'll pick it up from the dealer and ride it to your house if you like! (t.i.c.) ;)

Re: Need Rectifier & Wiring Harness

The single crimp connectors that were used in your repaired harness typically contribute to the problem. A new harness will help you eliminate those, but if you have to make any repairs to the harness in the future there are a couple of better methods described in this thread: http://goldwingdocs.co...

Re: Rebuilding my 1982 GL1100 Goldwing

Ye-ouch! Sounds like a $15 timing belt, which would mean that your valves have been repurposed as piston stops. Hopefully there is some other (less catastrophic) source of the problem, but it sounds to me like you lost at least one of the timing belts. What surprises me is that you "turned the motor...

Re: GL1200 GOLDWINGS Web Site

Yeah, I knew the founder had passed, but that there was some effort to keep the torch lit. I joined just a year ago, I guess the support wasn't there or it was too much of a task. I'm sure keeping a web site forum up and running is a lot of work. :(

Good thing we still have GoldwingDocs!
