Key switch worn out?

I've either worn out my key switch trying to fix my 85 GL1200 or something else is wrong. I tried to get an after market key switch and couldn't find one with an exact connection and the 1 that did was $175. so I didn't consider it as a good buy. I just hooked up the wires to a cheap switch and stil...

I put a new regulator on my 85 GL1200 that is after-market. I was just getting ready to try rolling it over when all the lights went out and there isn't any connection. There is so much trouble with the electrical that you might as well just run a hot connection for the starter and one for the light...
