Re: upgrade stock audio to bluetooth

There have been a few riders who seem to have had good luck with the Sena Freewire setup to fit their needs. It is a bit "pricey" but the "plug-and-play" aspect is a definite plus. If the above info doesn't fit your needs/desires, , , there is another option, , , , https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/vie...

Re: balance beads

Only "glitch" I see is, I believe there is a problem putting the AirSoft BB's through the valve stem because they are larger that the ID of the valve stem. If I am right, that will mean that you will need to "break a bead" on the tire and slip them in between the rim and the tire. I haven't heard of...

Re: I think I've got a coolant leak

Sounds like a small leak for sure, , ,remember a while back when you dealt with the water temp sensor?? The sealant/tape on the threads of that sensor would probably be the first place I check for a small drip.

Re: Fuel Pump Question

I have replaced the OEM fuel pump which failed, with the NAPA/Carter P72190 and new strainer with 12" Gates 27093 submersible hose. Specs and confirming "member tests" seemed to show that the pump was closest to the OEM specs. Additionally, the cost was a fraction of the cost to replace with an OEM ...

Re: Cupping

A decent fix used by many riders is two-fold;

1.) inflate tires to a tick below maximum (as stated on sidewall)

2.) Put 2-3 oz. of Balance beads (dyna beads or CounterAct seem to be popular)

Re: bad gas milage

12 mpg is horrible, , , If it were MY ride, I'd strongly consider, 1.) doing a compression test on ALL cylinders to compare with the "specs". 2.) Check my spark plugs to "read" their condition and focus on any that show black sooty electrodes. You say that you've read that the fuel petcock could cau...

Re: left turn bias

There are too many possible causes, , , but my first thought is, Have you considered a Fork Brace to stiffen up the front forks and make them more "solid-feeling"? Maybe consider jacking up the front end and see if you get "wobble" when you force the wheel to the left. Make sure all the bolts/nuts a...

Oh OK, , those panels have been tough to get. The Unobtainium 2.1 panels that I am involved with making is a flat panel that fits the hole where the OEM stereo sits. Re: exhaust cover colors

The '89 Red is called "Candy Wineberry" (R114CU), and the '95 Red is called "Candy Spectra" Red (R176C), OR the other reddish one is called "Candy Garnet" Red (R199C). I don't think the exhaust covers are interchangable color-wise because of the different color codes. But honestly, I'm just not sure.

I agree with Erdeniz, ,atleast regarding the BAS on my '91, , the BAS is below the trunk on the RIGHT side. I removed the seat and the right side saddlebag to get to it (4 bolts for the seat and 4 bolts for the saddlebag). I even think you can just wiggle the saddlebag away/out far enough to access ...

Re: It just died sitting at a stop light

Checking the wiring down by the battery/fuse area is a good place to start. My thoughts are more along the lines of the "pressure build-up" in the gas tank usually caused by a clogged gas cap not "venting" as needed. Was the weather fairly warm?? Do you hear a "whoosh" when you remove the gas cap to...

Re: Won't turn over

My first thought is "battery condition", , , what's the voltage with NO LOAD, , what's the voltage WITH LOAD? If both those are in the 12.7 V or better, , ,start investigating the BAS (bank angle sensor) as I notice that you've got the trunk/bags raised up.

Re: High pitch squeel

+1 on the timing belt tensioners, , , ,it is possible/likely that the squeal will get progressively worse as the bearings get more and more abuse/worn. If I were you, , , I would consider taking the hint from the "squeal" that the tensioners are NOT HAPPY and check em out before they crap out comple...
