Re: How to replace your dash lights with LEDs

Great, , I look at how my dash looked before the LED upgrade and I wonder how in the heck I EVER saw the tach or speedometer. The LED's make that blue dash "pop" and its so much easier to see all the gauges. Take some before, and after pics, then post em here for us to see, , ,it'll absolutely CONVI...

Good for you, , , ,You'll LOVE the improvement. I can't help much with the lights that need resistors, , but someone will come along if you have trouble with them.

Re: Not a Good Day at the Gas Station (need a part)

Yep, "matching" paint on a 30 yr old Goldwing is dam-near IMPOSSIBLE!!! Consider all of the "sun-fade", and damage/affect of soaps, cleaners, chemicals, dirt and crud. Chances are that even an EXACT match of the factory color will NOT match a 30 yr old paint job. Even buying a "used/salvaged" panel ...

Re: How to replace your dash lights with LEDs

I found my "packing list" with the bulb numbers that I used. You'll see I "diffused" some of the dash lites because some folks commented about "hot spots/glare", and it worked great for me, , , , do as you wish though. QTY: (4) main dash lights- 194-CWHP5 (cool white 5 lite) $5 ea. ***NOTE; I used a...

Re: How to replace your dash lights with LEDs

Charlie1Horse, I did the LED upgrade and it works GREAT!!! It's been almost a year ago though so I'm going to go thru the list of bulbs that I got and check to see if the numbers have changed. In the meantime, , would you list the bulbs that you found that are the SAME as what was recommended, , , t...

Re: WANTED:'91 Interstate "blank" radio panel on Centershelter (PN#83155-MW5-870ZA)

This seems to be a decent "install" of an upgraded AM-FM stereo with the bluetooth, USB and Aux-in. Lots of room for gauges/switches if needed. There's a thumb-drive with 100's of MP3 songs in the USB port for when reception is poor. The phone charger (USB) and the Aux-in lines are at the bottom of ...

Re: Fuel sender interchange

I don't have personal experience with an '88 vs 90-00 sending unit , , ,but the part numbers seem to indicate it would work fine. I'd suggest you stick with anything closer to '90 rather then '00. Even if you got an '88 sending unit, you might have to slightly "tweek" the bend to reflect an accurate...

Re: WANTED:'91 Interstate "blank" radio panel on Centershelter (PN#83155-MW5-870ZA)

GOT ONE!!!! It will need some minor "clean up" but it will work fine for my needs. This panel fits 88-00 GL1500's centerdecks and mounts in the same location as the stereo. The panel will accommodate the newer AM-FM stereos with bluetooth, USB (for charging the phone), Aux-in (for MP3 or GPS, etc), ...

Re: Not a Good Day at the Gas Station (need a part)

Open the Gas cap "lid" and you'll find the "color code" number sticker that has the color code of your paint. I'll do my best to find the exact panel and color as soon as you get that number to us. The number should match one of these; Color codes for 1989 Honda Goldwing 1500: Candy Wineberry Red: R...

Does it idle steady at 850-900 rpm, , , it there any "stumble" off the line at stops?? Do you have to leave the choke on a lot? What was your gas mileage before this work? Are you on the throttle too often, best to keep "in-town" riding close to 2k rpm's if possible. I'm going to assume you'd notice...

Re: Time for a 3D printer?

I got through to the owner at Firecreek, , ,He got rid of the molds to a friend in an "exchange", , ,the friend then got rid of the molds to an unknown truck driver passing through the area. The original molds are no longer an option to getting a panel done. Luckily, or maybe not, I'm working on CAD...

What did you do regarding a "blank" panel for the stereo, , , ,or did you keep the original one?

WANTED:'91 Interstate "blank" radio panel on Centershelter (PN#83155-MW5-870ZA)

The '91 GL1500 Interstate did not have a cassette-radio on the center shelter like just about EVERY OTHER GL1500. Instead, it had a "blank-off" panel where the cassette-radio is "normally" mounted, and this panel bolts under the center shelter the same as a radio does. I'm looking for one of these p...

I don't see a flaw in your install, , ,just hard to believe you got "bad" new pumps. I'm at a loss for suggestions, , , other than to say, , ,put a 90 degree brass elbow inline so that stiff hose has no bend, it can't hurt to try. Sounds like you did everything right, and it must be frustrating to h...

Re: Gas Mileage Seems Low

I've found that using a proper mixture of Seafoam for a few tank-fulls of gas will "miraculously" clean out those pesky Idle jets and your idle will smooth out. Try to stay below, or at, 2k RPM when riding in town because anything over 2k bypasses the idle jets. It will NOT resolve the idle issue ov...
