Re: Fuel Pump failure
Tim, I'm beginning to think and the hose that you're having trouble locating is actually the 'breather" hose. The aftermarket fuel pump that I installed does not require that hose, so I removed it and set it in the workshop. The Gates 27093 hose from Amazon is for fuel output and might have a differ...

Re: 94 gl 1500i fuel pump
DenverWinger is 100% correct about the fuel pump, (great info 'ol friend). I went through the fuel pump "adventure" a few years back and had no problem with the fuel hose. Check out the Gates #27093 at Amazon for the right hose. I ordered 12" and used about 11 1/2" of it. It is still working flawles...

Re: Does anybody have a source for a used 93 ECM?
Do a "search" for motorcycle dismantlers and/or motorcycle salvage locations in your area/state. Many of them belong to a "network" where you post the part number of the item you're looking for and it gets sent to all of them. If one has the item, they'll email you with a price. It has worked for me...

Re: 88 fuel pump electrical troubleshooting
Because almost every aftermarket pump will give excessive gpm's and higher pressure can cause other problems, , which pump are you planning on buying? Almost every pump make/model has been tried, , ,let us know so someone with the same pump could give you ideas or tips on how their conversion worked.

Re: 88 fuel pump electrical troubleshooting
A few of us who've needed to replace old (25-30 yr old) fuel pumps have gone with the NAPA/Carter #P72190 which has worked well. A significant money savings over some others was a welcome benefit. Use the "search" feature for "aftermarket fuel pump" or something like that and you'll find many great ...

Re: 88 fuel pump electrical troubleshooting
The '88 and '89 models have a Fuel Pump Relay (under the truck near the BAS sensor) which will "prime" the fuel pump/fuel circuit for a 1-2 second spurt of fuel as soon as you turn the key to the ON position. The fuel pump relay could be bad, , but your troubleshooting of the pump by disconnecting t...

Re: Replacement Flag
WingAdmin is right, , ,the thin antennae is not meant to be bent much. It will snap off easily with the "drag" of a flag waving at highway speeds. The 12 X 18 slides down tightly over the "knurled" block over the pivot point of the antennae. Being low, much of the stress is on the mounting base of t...

I am flying a 12X18 American Flag from the antennae that fits over the antennae with no problems, other than after many miles, I had to use "flag Fray" to stop the ends from fraying. Made by "In the Breeze" out of Bend Oregon, the one I use is #4885. 12X18_In the breeze American flag #4885.jpg 12X18...

Re: Frozen 27 MM rear axle nut
The 1/2" breaker bar and 4' pipe will give MORE than enough leverage to loosen the nut. Put that screwdriver, or use a steel rod just "undersized" to fit into the hole in the axle on the opposite side of the nut. BLOCK that rod/screwdriver using a 2X4 or 4X4 that is cut to keep the axle from turning...

The stereo/radio hole can be used to install a new stereo with Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in, and other features when you use the "Blank-off" panel that came stock on the older GL1500 Interstate. There's 3" of clearance to the Air Filter box and you need to use the radio template to cut the correct hole. I...

Re: Electrical issue dies but restart after 30 mins
The battery would be my first suspect. How old is it, and what is the voltage with NO load after a full charge(should be about 12.7V)? What is the voltage WITH a load (needs to be around 11.2V)? The symptoms could also be "alternator" related so if the battery checks out OK, ,you might want to check...

100% LEGIT!! Sturdy and functional!!!
I had a modified ignition panel to start off with called Unobtainium 2.0. It is made to accommodate a couple 2" gauges.
Top view; Label view; These are very rare and thus, the Unobtainium name applies.

I've gotten same panels made that mount perfectly where the stereo fits. They're called Unobtainium 2.1. There are a few threads here with good information on which Marine radios have been used. Some folks have wired the handlebar controls to newer radios with success. I have been pleased with my se...

I have a '91 and not a '98 so even though this works for me, I don't guarantee it'll work for you. Your odometer working leads me to believe that the cable is hooked up correctly but the "speedo" needle isn't moving. It could be a lubrication issue but, , , on my beast I will see the "speedo" needle...

The stereo is a Dual XDM16BT that I bought at Walmart for under $20 (currently priced at $18.94 in my local store). Walmart had a "promo" on them a while back and I picked up a "back-up" unit for $13.00. Rainy weather here in California is almost a non-issue, but folks in the "wet" areas should know...

Re: GL1500 won't start
More information would be helpful but my first thought is the battery. These beasts are power-hungry and the power to the coils goes through the ECM first so even though the engine turns over, the coils won't spark enough to fire the plugs. Charge the battery to full charge and check to see that you...

Re: Front brake disc covers
I think the vast majority of the rotor covers actually "hide" the rotor but since you like the "gap", just adjust/bend the other side to match the one you like. The cover is bolted up to the back of the fork/fender area where the Brake lines attach, and also two small bolts down near the center of t...
