Re: 83155-MW5-XXX Unobtainium 2.1 Stereo Blank-off panel for GL1500's

FOR ALL INTERESTED IN THIS PANEL, , , , The vendor charges me $132 per panel, so that is what I charge the members here. USPS charges $14.35 for Priority mail Flat Rate Medium box to anywhere in the lower 48 states. I prefer PayPal payments to Paypal.Me/Bluthundr31, , or simply click the "send money...

Re: 2000 gl1500 draining battery after sitting several days

Sounds like a VERY large parasitic draw on #13. Time to break out the VM and check each circuit (one by one) that's on that relay to try to determine which one is dragging the battery down.

Re: Phone motorcycle mount

I think most folks prefer the RAM mount for stability, cost, and dependability. Specific phone brand/model could be a determining factor too though. Check out the "review" section for some really awesome information. Here is a good one to start with, https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18...

Re: Sterring limiter on handlebars?

Sounds more like the "rear-end" event caused your handlebars to skip a tooth upward which will make them hit the mirror before the "stop" is reached. Loosen the handlebar bracket (under the ignition panel) and move the handlebars backward (down) one notch and you should be back to where it was.

Did you use Honda brand belts, , or did you opt for the Gates belts.
If you used the Gates belts, ,did you notice if they were made in USA or UK? There was a discussion that China had begun (possibly) making them.

Re: Clutch fluid cover screw

Any good hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hdwre) will have a "board" with metric sizing for you to match that screw. You're gonna probably go to the hardware store to get a replacement anyway, just take it in and match it. HELPFUL HINT: replace both screws with a flat head HEX (allen) head sc...

Hmmm, ,, ,rumbling sound? Could be quite a few things but my first guess would be that the water pump is going bad. The impeller or bearings maybe?? You probably had to drain the radiator and disconnect hoses to do the timing belts. Did all the hoses get connected back in place without any problems,...

Re: Problem setting the headlights to the proper height

It sounds like you might have a worn out plastic "gear cog" situation, ,maybe the previous owner tired to go farther than limits of the cable. Take a look at the headlight thread in the DIY section, https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=9442 It will give good info/pictures to follow, ,...

Re: Problem setting the headlights to the proper height

That knob has a small-ish set screw on one of the indents that mates to a "flat" spot on the inner plastic to adjust the height of the light. Unscrew that set screw, pull the outer knob off, and examine the inner piece to see if it turns when the outer knob is turned. You might also get a good handl...

Re: Help !!!! Brake line not bleeding.

Once the lines are bled and the air is evacuated, you should have a good solid "pedal" again. I am not recalling any O-rings on my rebuild, but the 1/4" ID smacks of a bleeder valve thread. If you have good brakes without replacing the O-rings, set the new ones aside for future use. I don't know whe...

Re: Help !!!! Brake line not bleeding.

Try the "reverse-fill" method to get brake fluid into the line to remove the air. You attach a "medical syringe" (large volume) to a clear hose and with the bleeder open, shove fluid from the syringe into the caliper until you see it coming into the reservoir. The front left brake caliper and the re...

Re: balance beads

Only "glitch" I see is, I believe there is a problem putting the AirSoft BB's through the valve stem because they are larger that the ID of the valve stem. If I am right, that will mean that you will need to "break a bead" on the tire and slip them in between the rim and the tire. I haven't heard of...

Sounds like a small leak for sure, , ,remember a while back when you dealt with the water temp sensor?? The sealant/tape on the threads of that sensor would probably be the first place I check for a small drip.

I have replaced the OEM fuel pump which failed, with the NAPA/Carter P72190 and new strainer with 12" Gates 27093 submersible hose. A decent fix used by many riders is two-fold;

1.) inflate tires to a tick below maximum (as stated on sidewall)

2.) Put 2-3 oz. of Balance beads (dyna beads or CounterAct seem to be popular)
