Re: Puncture sealant in trailer tires?

Right, got it, as far as I know, most all Bushtec trailer tires use tubes, sure if mounted assemblies are the same price as unmounted tires, why bother demounting and remounting, I would just chuck those also.. Right you are, looked up what trailer and tires you are talking about and they do indeed...

Re: Puncture sealant in trailer tires?

As trailer tires already mounted on rims are almost the same price as the tires alone, and mounting costs, I would think that this type of substance could be of benefit. One of the things most aggravating is a flat on a trailer tire out in the middle of nowhere, and discovering you do not have a ja...

Re: Avon Trike tyre

My brother ran one of these on his Goldwing trike. The tire had 11k on it when he removed it, he was going on a 5k trip out west and wanted a fresh tire to start trip. I then put it on my 2 wheel wing and rode the remainder of the year. I installed a new tire before the next spring, but the Avon tri...

Re: Boss Hoss

Yeah, they do not turn well, but they are fantastic Interstate Highway bikes. When I lived in New Mexico in the mid 80's, I had a bud in Albuquerque that had one, and I got to ride it, both around town and down the Interstate. You are correct in it having more power than it needs. Yeah, handling wi...

Boss Hoss

While in Sturgis last month my brother and I got the opportunity to demo ride a Boss Hoss. Have seen and read about these bikes for years and never thought I would ever get to ride one. Stopped at their display and was pleasantly surprised that they were actually doing demo rides on these beast. 383...

Re: trailer size

Harbor Freight trailer, a pair of 32" long TSC pick-up tool boxes and cooler. Loaded with camping gear, clothes tools etc. Weighs between 300 and 350 lbs. loaded, 35 lbs. tongue weight.

The larger the trailer the more unnecessary stuff you will wind up taking.

Re: Camping Crime

Like your trailer! Did you make it? Yes, well my brother did. It's a Harbor Freight trailer with a pair of TSC pick-up tool boxes. He hauled it a few years then bought a Bunkhouse camper and I kind of inherited 3 years ago. We have pulled it well over 30k miles, keep wheel bearings packed and good ...

As usual, my cousin's bother's father-inlaw's uncle had a problem with these. No first hand information. For the most part those who express that ct's don't handle or are a danger have NO first hand knowledge and have not tried one. Darkside tire on the Dragon. I believe that most people don't repo...

Re: Camping Crime

I have camped in about 20 different states, using state, county and private campgrounds (KOA's and the like). I have never had any problem with theft. But with that being said I do take precautions, such as locking the storage boxes on my trailer, locking my cooler shut and to the trailer and cable ...

Re: Headlights Went Out and Back On After Restarting the Bike

Probably the start switch sticking. There is a second switch in the start switch that turns the headlights off when starting. Get some plastic safe contact cleaner and spray generously in around the start button. +1 on the contact cleaner. I had this same thing happen on my "wing right after I got ...

Yes, I agree the Crazy Horse Monument is worth riding down to see. And they have a very nice visitor center with a theater showing the history of Crazy Horse as well as the monument.

Re: Sturgis

I have a trailer but I love riding too much to trailer it. Besides, my son wouldn't allow that! I pull my Bunkhouse trailer which I can place a pad on top and lay the bikes on it. Not much extra weight and easy to haul. Then if we are close to a town or just want some exercise after riding all day,...

Sounds like a nice campground and looks nice. My son wants to go next year and told me he wants to stay the week. Re: Noise when braking hard from triple tree?

I had something similar to this. After shop had replaced fork seals, they had the brake hose off the secondary master cylinder mounted on fork leg that activates the anti dive ( and I believe middle piston on rear caliper) and had not properly bleed it. With the air in the line it allowed the left b...

I too have just returned from Sturgis Rally. My wife went with me and we camped in campgrounds in the Spearfish area 17 miles west of Sturgis. The campground has quite time from 10pm till 8am thus no ear plugs to sleep. If you want to avoid the craziness at camp you just need to look for campground ...

Too much craziness for me. We might get through there sometime when it's not, but otherwise, no thanks. Not as much craziness as one might expect. Have been there the last two years and have nothing but an enjoyable time. We stay at a quit campground 20 miles away. I suppose there is craziness (and...
