Re: SCMG Pathfinder LED Lights
I didn't see anything different on the boxes so I put one box (two lights) on one side, one box (two lights) on the other. Did I place two high beams on the left side and two low beams on the right? Ride Safe! After going back and re-reading your post, I think this is what you might have done. If, ...

Re: SCMG Pathfinder LED Lights
On my 2016 all four lights are the same. The only difference between low & high beams are the reflectors. Is that the same for the 2006? I'm just wondering if it is possible to have installed both high beam bulbs on the left if they are different for the 2006. Or if for some reason you were sent...

Re: My passenger is cold
Hi, I think if you stick with the 14-in screen you are going to be looking through it even in its lowest position. I am long wasted and long necked and I only have a 32-in seam. But I was still looking through the windshield so I made some small modifications to the front of the goldwing fairing to...

Re: My passenger is cold
If your passenger doesn't already have decent riding gear that would be my first step. Something that protects from wind and then either has thermal protection more than just a vest or enough space to wear something warm under the jacket and rain liner. My wife is comfortable like that down to arou...

Re: Low output from new speakers
Mute button was going to be my suggestion. I've done and for way longer than it should have taken to discover it. It had to have been a month or so.
Then there was the auto-volume adjust thing based on speed setting that made another huge difference while riding.

Re: Can I play mp3s off a USB thumb drive on my 2021 Goldwing Tour?
Does the 2021 Wing have a USB port that is for more than just charging? That's the real question. I've heard it has one for charging, but not really linked to the audio system.

Re: "Goldwing Specific" Tires??
The Bridgestone site doesn't even list an actual 63W for the GoldWing. They are all just 63. It appears the W is the speed rating up to 163mph. The dealer might be thinking the W stands for Wing or some odd thing. I think the tire you have is correct.

Re: Quitting motorcycles?
The biggest problem I see with distracted driving laws are that they are mainly or solely focused on cell phone use. What about eating, applying makeup, reading, or reaching around the floor or backseat? There are so many tings that are ignored that have been going on for decades.

Re: Quitting motorcycles?
Been there. I think many of us have. Mine came about 9-10 years ago when I had my Hayabusa. Back in '84, at 18, I purchased my first street bike, a Suzuki GS1100E. The salesman asked me if I was sure and then told me if I got this I would never be happy with anything less than an 1100. He was right....

Re: 2016 GL1800 Occasionally just won't start..
I hope it is just the battery. My similar issue turned out to be the pulse generator. It did that "not starting" thing twice in a year, but would start up after a couple attempts and then letting it sit for 10-15 minutes then fired right up. I didn't disconnect the battery either time. The...

Re: Final Mileage for 2021
Well, this is depressing. I finished the year with 41,597 miles on the odometer and only 7,440 of those were from 2021. 3,064 of that was just our trip to Colorado in June and then another 1,220 with my daughter down to the Texas Hill Country in November. Great trips, but my wife and I both thought ...

Re: Are onboard GPS units worth it?
I know there are many riders that dislike the Honda Tripplanner but if you use it often and recognize its limitations, you can make it work for you and it does a great job. For me it does do a great job. My issues are not with the Trip Planner or the onboard system. Both of the work fine on their o...

Re: Drink holder mount where there's .... NO SPACE!
For a drink I still have the center cubby thing and also the passenger seat handle mounted cup holder. I used to have an X-mount on the clutch side. I decided I was paying too much attention to and moved it back to my jacket pocket. For longer trips if I want water I obtained a 2L camelbak earlier t...

Re: Trailer Hitch Light Bar with brake and turn signals
But really you could set your bike on fire and some people would still not see it. That's kinda what I'm thinking. If they aren't looking it doesn't matter how many lights you have. I still have my stock tail lights and at night when I'm at a stop I can see the road for 50-100 feet behind me lit up...

Re: Innovv K2 Dual Camera System Review
A minor update on my K2 system. The front camera finally wiggled loose from it's adhesive. I noticed it a day before a recent trip down to the Texas Hill Country NW of San Antonio, reattached it, and it held up nicely throughout the entire trip. Even during a short bout of insanity and confusion ove...

Maybe, just maybe, if she would have asked for a ride on his GoldWing instead of his "bike" he might have said yes.

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight
Installed EC low & high beam lights last week. Wow!
That’s a lot of light. I’ve ridden two mornings and two nights in the dark since installing. Well, not in the dark any more.
I adjusted my beam back to where it was before and haven’t had anyone flash me for it being too bright yet.

Re: E10 petrol? Gasoline.
Regular unleaded gas here in MI has 10% ethanol. I switched to recreation fuel (gas) last year and the bike starts easier and runs better. The octane is a little higher than regular. The downside is about a buck a gallon more, but I only ride <1000 miles a summer so it makes little difference. Is r...

Re: My brain-dead moment today, Bike went down (Mirror)
My brain-dead moment of the day involved the "side stand not fully down" as I stepped off the bike near a concrete wall within my garage. I feel your pain. I almost did that tonight in a Walmart parking lot after work stopping by for a few things on the way home. I had put it completely d...

Re: Floorboard hex bolt size
After worrying about this for a bit I remembered I have a micrometer that can also measure inside diameter. I wasn't sure if this would work for hex heads or not. Don't ask. So, I measured one I knew I had a bit for and it does. Then I measured the bolt head in question and came up with 8mm. Then I ...

Re: Golf bag carrier
That's good. I was worried there would be too much weight on that rack and hitch. I haven't weighed my golf bag in many years, okay never, but it seems like it would be too heavy for back there.
