Re: Have You Trailered a 2018 Goldwing?

Honda sells a strap that fits on the handle bars, works great. I went to Phoenix,AZ to get my new goldwing. They loaded the bike in the back of my pickup with a 8 foot bed. It fit just barely with the tailgate up. They used only four of my straps. Two for the front and two for the back. The rear str...

The effects of alcohol in gas

Alcohol is not good for the rubber parts on the insides of carbs. I found an article on this and it suggested to add 1 ounce of MMO oil ( Marvel Mystery oil) to every two and a half gallons of gas. It will help keep the orings lubed inside the carbs and also keep the inside of the gas tank from rusl...

Re: Stator, Cultch and regulator replacement

thanks Sillver dave. Yes I found out that honda does not make alot of 1200 parts anymore. But there are alot of good alternatives, such as radiator hoses(gates makes a hose that when cut in half will fit the top and bottom of the radiator), also the timing belt tensioners, 7volt regulators and etc.

Re: changing the timing belts on 84 1200A

Yes, the most difficult thing about changing timing belts is removing all the luggage and plastic from the Interstates and Aspencades. the Standard or naked models are a breeze.

Stator, Cultch and regulator replacement

Just recently replaced my stator in a 84 goldwing standard. There is a great video on youtube which describes step by step how to remove the engine. Also, there is a video on how to remove the rear engine cover and replace the stator. I also replaced my clutch while the engine was out. The bike had ...

Re: rough starting goldwing

I didn't provide enough information. The bike also was blowing what looked like smoke, but was steam. The head gasket was leaking antifreeze. Compression from the head would also leak into the water jacket of the engine and into the radiator which caused it to blow into the overflow. I replaced the ...
