Re: AM/FM Booster to fit a Goldwing GL1800

Are you specifically looking to boost AM performance, FM performance, or both? Over the last few decades, the amount of noise-polluting electronics has degraded AM reception dramatically. Here's a Canadian government document with some background on the topic: https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.n...

One of the (few) positive things about riding in cold(er) temperatures.

It appears that someone decided to remove the video. Too bad. It was kind of cute.
Yeah, audio is gone for me.

YouTube censorship for the music, probably. Too bad.

Re: What's close to your home?

So, going back and re-reading post No. 1 in the thread, the limitation is within a day or two of home. Well, now, that expands things. I mean, stuff around home, you just don't think about taking pictures or video, but if you're on a trip... A lot of these I have also at my blog (link in sig line be...

Replacing plastic pieces on a 20 year old motorcycle isn't for the faint of heart. :geek:

If you're untrusting of the illustrated parts breakdown as shown on-line, you have options out there.

Re: Left rear pocket compatability

Interesting... :geek: The 'door' is called LID in Honda-speak. I looked up the 'outer trunk pocket' (which is where the lid is attached...) - the old pocket is 82211-MCA-000. The current is 82211-MCA-A60. 82220-MCA-000 is the old lid. The new one? 82220-MCA-A60ZA I looked up the parts on the link th...

Re: End of an era: Haynes/Chilton

Read both of Kwthorm's links, and still don't see where it makes a driver more educated as to how to drive correctly, only a let me do it for you attitude. If people knew more about what they should do rather than expecting the vehicle doing it for then, I believe it would be much safer on the road...

Re: Looking for information on new boots

So what boots does everyone use that ride year round without heated insoles? Danner Kinetic which is a 6" boot. This is a law enforcement designed boot, so very comfortable both on and off bike for hours at a time. Since most of my riding is in the heat of the desert, this is a boot that works well...

See also: https://glklanding.com/

Search Amazon for "GLK Landing Gear" for price & compatibility (does claim to have a version for GL1500). I did read elsewhere small discount if procured direct from manufacturer in S. Korea.

Re: What's close to your home?

Maybe I should have taken that road getting from Yuma to Oro Valley, instead of West Tangerine! Looks like a lot more fun! You're closer to Catalina than you are Oro Valley on Park Link, but if you were aiming for the northern end of 'the OV', then this is certainly an option. There are a couple of...

I read the thread, then went and read the thread with the story behind the story that was told here. The one about how riders from all over attempted to get your bike operational. It was difficult to tell, but maybe there is a story to share about that specific bike. In my signature line on this for...

Re: Dogs that chase motorcycles

There's a surly looking idiot that walks his dog thru my 'hood to get to an open area. Some GSD/mongrel that he doesn't have good control of, it appears to me. As they're walking on the one side of the streets that has a sidewalk, the owner seems to get his kicks on watching what the dog does as I'm...

I guess it would depend on your air chuck. The only valve I had at the moment I put a new front tire on a new-to-me rim was a short, straight metal stem. Welp, my dual tire chuck (Harbor Freight) might fit a semi, but doesn't fit that valve stem. Grrr.... I have to break out my inflator that lives o...

Re: Bluetooth & mp3 - check my thoughts

It's too bad some whiz-kid doesn't come up with a firmware upgrade for our older radios to eliminate the limitations. There's a few hard-wired limitations internal to the head unit, from my study of a few of the initial integration issues way back in the BikeMP3 days. Thus, not just a simple 'rever...

Somewhere along the way, they changed the basic idea of what a Goldwing should be. ...and, yet, that wasn't the *first* time that happened (changing the basic idea...) Ref: GL1200 vs GL1500 What's old is new again. Less than 200,000 GL1800's were sold in North America during the years it was made. ...

Corbin - OK. That's where I should have looked. Imagine what can be accomplished with a little creativity. Maybe Honda should change the designer. Honda should change what designer - the one that did the saddlebags, etc. on the +18 bike? No, that was 100% intentional ! https://www.cycleworld.com/20...

I know, another older thread resurrection... The unfortunate part about threads like these is that we have yet to get the 'post ride download' from the OP @dingdong about his perspective on US50.
