Re: New (to me) Add-Ons

Will it be an involved process to remove them? I ask because they will no doubt have to come off to remove a saddlebag or even to replace a lower brake light or turn signal bulb. Mike, They are very easy to take off. Just reach under and remove the four 10mm bolts from the Valance or the lower Trun...

Re: New (to me) Add-Ons

Very nice. How are they attached? They both have mounts for bolts/screws. Since both were used, I had to clean the old deteriorated foam strips from along all the areas that contact painted surfaces and re-apply new. Also, I had to find new edpm "edge guard" for the valance. Then it was just a matt...

New (to me) Add-Ons

I finally had the opportunity to mount the lower Trunk spoiler and the Saddle Bag Valance that I was able to hunt down and have color matched to my bike. These Hondaline add-ons are like trying to find hens teeth!

Re: Helmet Storage Idea - Helmet Hitch

I found the motorcycle "wall art" while Googling helmet holders. When I saw it, I told myself: "self, you can use THAT to make something really unique!" So I bought it and re-purposed it for a helmet holder. The pipe and fittings were pretty inexpensive. I also made this Millennium Falcon helmet hol...

Re: 2020 Starting mileage

offcenter........Yes sir, only 12,311 miles. It looks like the day it was purchased new. I bought it in 2017 from a gentleman that couldn't hold it up anymore. Kind of a sad story. He bought it new so he and his wife could ride. She had hip surgery after only two rides and was never able to ride aga...

Black Front Fender Extension

I've seen a number of GL1500's with a black front fender extension but I can't seem to find any for sale. I can find all kinds of black ones for the GL1800. Do I need to buy a chrome one and paint it?

Re: footwear

Hey Wildwilly018,
Yes, these boots have a rubber "work" sole and they grip very well. I bought them for riding because of the rubber sole, the arch support and cushioning inside AND they look great too! They're reasonably priced as well.

Which Brake Pads?

2000SE I'm going to be replacing both front and rear brake pads this year and my first thought is to purchase the oem pads. Then I thought it might be good to ask what experience others have had with different brands and/or materials that may perform better than the Hondaline brake pads. Any suggest...

Re: Coolant leak, where to look?

Hey oldmopars, I see you hail from Selah. I used to live there and would move back in a heartbeat for the weather and riding! Actually grew up in Port Orchard with family still on the Western side of Snoqualmie Pass. I too had a similar issue with coolant and found two hoses right in front that were...

Re: Old Aleternator

I also replaced my OEM alternator for a 90 AMP unit. It only had just over 10,000 miles on it. I'm going to take it to a local company that rebuilds alternators and have them upgrade it as large (amps) as possible for the frame so I have a backup..................

Any idea what the diameter of the original Firecreek gauges are? They fill out the panel nicely.

Is there a port that an oil pressure sensor for a gauge could be connected too on a 2000 GL1500?

Re: Gl1500 fuel pump

I have a 2000SE that had this exact issue. I have effectively worked around this issue by installing a miniature vacuum pump to open the fuel petcock along with two 1/16" check valves on the vacuum lines. I then installed a separate miniature pushbutton switch in the right hand fairing pocket that i...
