Re: Giving up on it

Sorry I didn't reply guys I was busy with getting the harley. I did actually get it and it rides like a dream, but not as smooth as the air ride suspension the wing has. Anyways here's some pictures of the wing. Willing to part out or sell in full. No title and it's not registered (three years back)...

Yeah got the timing all back together and turned it on and here's what i'm hearing.

I'm not sure if the carbs are just flooded or if I have my timing off still. Any insight based off the sound in the video?

Timing question

So my timing is slightly off due to the whole radiator and pulley issue i'm fixing. I can't rotate the crankshaft clockwise with the belts on as it feels far too tight and is starting to mess up the threads on my bolt. I'm pretty sure the left camshaft (facing the front of the bike) is slightly out ...

Re: Alternator options?

the 4 cylinder bikes don't have an Alternator, it is a STATOR. you need to do some tests to verify the condition of the existing charging system. several good gurus that can help on that. if you don't want to fix the OEM system, you can add an alternator, but it is a lot of work. I actually already...

Without seeing how badly it is damaged, maybe you could take it to a local radiator shop? They may be able to solder up & seal the damage?
Will most likely do that once i'm back in town tomorrow.

Re: 1984 gl1200a Sound system upgrade Long but worth it for those looking to upgrade.

Great except for one thing: Never, ever, ever use wire nuts on automotive/motorcycle wiring!! Please! Wire nuts are meant for house wiring, that does not move, and is not exposed to corrosive environments. Wire nuts used on a motorcycle WILL FAIL, first intermittently, then completely. They do not ...

Re: 1984 gl1200a Sound system upgrade Long but worth it for those looking to upgrade.

Hi, great post on your upgrade. I have a 87 aspencade and was wondering would those speakers fit behind the factory grills? I have been looking at speakers but would like to keep the factory look. Your grills should be the same as mine so they won't fit. You would have to dremel the area where the ...

Just got the bike last week and crashed last night.. what luck right?
