Re: 2008 charging circuit have a fuse?
You're welcome! I had a GW mechanic recommend that I dust the alternator frequently because I live in a dusty area. An 02 I had was in the shop for one of the early recalls back in the day. He had a policy of dusting the wing alternator on the bikes he worked on. He told me that mine was the dirtie...

Re: Help with trunk parts removal
YouTube and I had a falling out of sorts and I put a nail in my channel. Long story, lots of politics. But that video is no longer available. I don't remember the process now that it is 4 years later but I have the video in an archive somewhere and can look tomorrow and let you know. You are talkin...

Re: 2008 charging circuit have a fuse?
I live 3 miles down a dirt/gravel road. Every time I go out for a ride I get 6 miles of dust. The Wing is a dust vacuum under all the plastic. With that, I usually do a dusting of the alternator, wheels, underneath and the dash/switch buttons with compressed air at days end back at the house. When ...

Re: 07 Gl1800 im in pain!
I had the same problem over time as my seat began to wear out..So instead of lowering the foot pegs I raised my sitting position. I found at my local fabric shop HIGH DENSITY foam 1 inch thick cut to fit and Wa-La, suddenly hitting higher with broader support. And it wont absorb water. And its cheap...

Re: 2009 alternator drive gear
I'm late to the party, but to those who worry about the various noises a gl1800 makes need really not worry. These bikes really clunk and thunk. ADGs make a normal amount of noise that varies frome one bike to the next. I've heard pulse secondary air injection solenoids make noise. I've heard fuel ...

There is a O ring right there in that area. The silver pipe going into the Cyl head.
Go to Bike bandit and look your bike up its part I believe its part #23.
But thats just my 2 cent best guess.

Lookout Mountain above Denver is a regular Antenna farm, probably 15 big towers up there! OK - Here's the new "mark". Since we've got the Radio/TV Transmitter tower, how about your bike in front of a TV/Radio Studio building. The Studio's sign needs to include the CallSign or Frequency. Everybody h...

Re: Reverse on 1800
I too am having problems with my reverse. Light comes on but flashes, when I depress the button the R light flashes slower. Need to stop the engine before I can get it out of reverse. Im thinking I might change the reverse solenoid as theres no clicking like it usually does. Are the starter solenoi...

Re: Brakes vibrating
I figured out a fix for my rear brake shudder... I'm pushing 23300K on my 06 and maintenance is a fact of life. I realized I had never replaced the spring pad or retainer on any of my calipers. So while I was replacing the rear disc with a good used one. I found the retainer was so loose it would ju...

Re: LED Turn Signal Bulbs.
Swapping out to LED's without installing a different flasher relay causes the signals to flash rapidly.
I used Socalmotorgear for my conversion LED's. They are very helpful and may be able to answer your
power draw questions.

Re: The Magic Is Gone!
I cant imagine a time when the "magic" just drains away! But have always said if I ever get too old or lazy to put my feet down I will put a side car on my wing. So the magic can continue. Or try a lighter bike and then maybe put a side car on that one... So I picked up this last year and use it for...
