Re: Questions about our clutch, is mine working right?

I’ve always thought the clutch engagement point was out a bit further than I would’ve expected on mine too. I removed the pivot pin and lubed it and it was fine, the clutch has always worked fine and held solid. I’m just chalking it up to that’s how it is and not worrying about it.

Re: Aux input for the cassette deck ??? HELP!

I believe the cassette function needs to be working normally, if it isn't then you can either repair the cassette function in order to use the aux input with cassette or others have made the aux input connection on the FM function instead. If I recall this requires cutting circuit traces and incorpo...

Re: New to me GL1500SE, so much good info here!

Here is a pic from the other night with the new EC LED headlights installed, WingAdmin was right, they are pretty bright and the high beams are powerful and the aim is spot-on. You can see my Goldwing from two miles away at night lol, you'd have to really be concentrating on texting to not see me co...

Re: Klím Induction Jacket

Lol yeah I should’ve know better. I don’t think I’ve ever seen orange hi-viz stuff in stock, heck they don’t have much in the yellow for that matter - everything seems to be all black and grays. That’s what the new model jacket that’s replacing the old model I bought is like, black and gray. I think...

Klím Induction Jacket

I have today off and was out running a couple errands on the bike, the local motorcycle shop, Cycle Barn, is just right there so why not stop in to kill a few minutes. $289.10 later I was riding out wearing my new riding jacket. I was only going in to look at some warm weather gloves, my current pai...

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

That is interesting indeed, even more so considering that the ones I got and apparently the ones WingAdmin got (looking at his picture) don't have the "LUMILEDS" script under the LEDs. Maybe you're are the real ones and ours are the fakes!

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

Went back down to the garage and got everything buttoned up. I removed the small wire harness from the white nylon loop clamp right there in the middle of the two headlights and that let me wiggle things around a little more. In a few days when it's not raining again I'll have to take it out for a q...

Re: Anyone looking for a used GL1500 (91) seat?

Hey Stan, is this still available? If so could you do $130 shipped to Arlington, WA 98223? Don't need it asap so whatever is the least expensive shipping, I'm looking for a used seat to play around with re-contouring the foam before dropping the big bucks on an aftermarket seat.

Seat/saddle rental or try before you buy?

So I'm in the process of talking myself into an aftermarket seat and was thinking it would be great if there was any kind of place where you could rent them for a few days to try them out. Some of them, Corbin for example, are a chunk of change but would be worth every penny if comfortable for long ...

Re: Ultimate motorcycle seat

I'm starting to consider an aftermarket seat, I get sore after about 5-ish hours in the stock seat. It feels soft and well cushioned, I don't know if I have a boney butt or what, I'd like to be able to ride a lot longer but I find myself standing on the pegs and shifting around after a while to try ...

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

I got kinda lucky with that covered bridge being in the area :) With my new job my weekends are now Thu-Fri for the next couple weeks and then Wed-Thu for the next few months after that. Kinda nice if I'm riding somewhere like my ride out to Winthrop posted in the 'Trip Info, Reports & Gatherings' s...

Re: Cascade loop this Thursday anyone? I know, short notice

I'm back. I didn't do the whole loop because I didn't consider that I wouldn't be getting home from work until 11:30pm the night before, so I didn't get as early of a start as I was first thinking. I rode to the western town of Winthrop and back, it's not quite at the half way point but was still a ...

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

The closest I could get is across the street, anywhere on the other side of the intersection and I'd either be blocking traffic or up on the sidewalk. This is the covered bridge before going into Arlington High School just off Hwy 9. img_2019.jpg For the next challenge: a picture of your Goldwing ne...

Cascade loop this Thursday anyone? I know, short notice

I'm going to ride the Cascade Loop this Thursday, anyone want to join? It's about 400 miles, I'm starting in Arlington, WA up I-5 to Hwy 20 to Winthrop, down to Wenatchee, and back towards home on Hwy 2. Weather looks like it's going to be good, I need to get more miles on this motorcycle!!! I'm goi...

Dang it, you guys beat me! I took a ride this morning down to the Snoqualmie Falls area where they have some old trains nearby, and I also came across a couple stop sign RR xings which I wasn't expecting to find. Re: New to me GL1500SE, so much good info here!

Put the original black plastic dipstick back in, the chrome one my dad had put in conducts heat too well and was sometimes too hot to touch. I noticed the chrome one was not the same length as the original, not off by a whole lot but enough that I thought I'd point it out in case others are not the ...

Re: Make Gl1000 Headlight Brighter?

If the GL1000 uses a standard round sealed beam automotive headlight you'll need an adapter housing that will let you use a standard H4 type headlight bulb, then you have a world of options such as the LEDs Mh434 provided the link for. Sorry, I don't have a GL1000 so I don't know if it's using the o...
