Re: Stop lights will not let me proceed.

Hondapotamus is right on the money. Also it may be worth making a couple of phone calls, they can adjust the gain or whatever controls the sensitivity of the traffic detection loops so if there's one you have to sit through a lot they might be able to take care of it.

Very cool! Did you see my thread where I got a 1/12 GL1500 model and took it apart to paint it to match mine? I love that kind of stuff! :D

Re: Luggage capacity question

Have you seen the new extended capacity saddlebag doors for the new Goldwings by Corbin? They aren't inexpensive and don't add a whole lot of extra capacity but could be an option.

I don't recall running across chromed bolts on mine, does it belong to any accessories such as passenger arm rests, or maybe leftover from the trike conversion?

Re: traffic light stop/wait/go best practice?

A guy in my GWRRA chapter was helping me with some parking lot practice stuff and he said, basically, that only inexperienced riders put both feet down . While I don't agree with that 100 percent, as I continue to practice on maneuvers that will make me a safer rider, if having my having my right f...

Re: New to me GL1500SE, so much good info here!

I know next to nothing about photography. I do sometimes like how you can make something look like a model by blurring parts of the image... I found a free online utility and was playing around with a picture I took a couple days ago, I'm into models of all kinds so this was kinda cool. Still haven...

Re: new (to me) 2000 gl1500. but had coolant leak?

I got my 2000 SE a couple years ago and had to track down a little coolant leak, turned out to be coming from this little plastic coolant manifold behind the right side radiator. The hose clamps just weren't doing their job after nearly 20 years, replaced the three clamps with standard hose clamps a...

Not hurting for space to store stuff there... also at some point close to this it goes from being a sidecar attached to a motorcycle to a motorcycle attached to the side of a car!

Motorcycle parking at work and dog food.

Motorcycle parking at work. This day wasn't too crowded, sometimes the bikes are squished next to each other and we still run out of room, a nice benefit of riding to work besides the carpool lane on the freeway is you get front row parking right next to the carpool and disabled parking spots. I'm s...

That's great news you're able to get it fixed back up, and also that you weren't badly hurt! Keep us posted on the progress. That's the radio mentioned in the Unobtanium 2.1 panel thread, how is the fit on the blanking panel? It looks pretty darn good, what about depth, does it clear the air filter ...

Re: Suzuki Burgman CV transmission video

Back when I had my Honda Ruckus I had the CV transmission cover off and was watching it work just like in your video, I knew how these types of transmissions worked but had never seen one in action. I was expecting the centrifugal clutch to be on the drive pulley end, not the driven pulley end, but ...

To the best of my knowledge it is a stock Honda Seat. I bought it on eBay from Everett Powersports.
I've bought parts on eBay from these guys before, then it occurred to me that I could simply ride there and get the parts seeing that they're only a short ride away, doh!

Looks real good, how much of a change in seating position was there going back to an original seat? Looks like you now sit a little higher.

Re: GL1500 stereo upgrade/replacement

Its the Blaupunkt Toronto TRT1049 AM/FM Bluetooth Media Receiver. I don't have an opinion good or bad about this particular stereo, just that it is the perfect size for the area we have available, and for $10 to $15 it does seem to be a pretty good deal and has pretty decent ratings.

Here is one of the really shallow depth media receivers that would be perfect on the blanking plate! This thing is what, 1 1/2" deep? Perfect!

Honda Ruckus 50cc scooter, which I had to trailer there because all the roads from my house to the test site went up to 50 mph and the Ruckus only does 37 mph on a good day. I didn't do this for an easy pass, although it was incredibly easy on a 50cc scooter as you might imagine, that is actually wh...

Crutchfield.com has a marine radio section both DIN media receivers (do not play CD's and are therefor relatively short) as well as ones that are similar to the one above. They have most specs like LxWxH for these so it takes some of the guesswork out. https://www.crutchfield.com/g_215950/Marine-Rad...

UNOBTAINIUM 3.0 PANEL? DIN adapter

Not sure how many panels you have to sell to make it worth your while, but if you were thinking about another such item please consider a DIN radio adapter. If it could be done for about the same price as the UNOBTAINIUM 2.0 panels I would put my money where my mouth is and be your first customer :)...

I'm wondering, , , , Would there be any interest, or advantage in getting the "Gauge Visor" at the same time when purchasing a new Unobtainium 2.0 panel??? It could be an "OPTION" but there would have to be an additional charge for the visor. It looks VERY seamless mounted on the panel, , , , Glend...

Thanks guys, I feel better now. Is this running too cold?

Granted it's a bit nippy out at 35°F and it wasn't that long of a ride, it may have moved up a needle's width more if I rode longer. How does this compare to others riding around in cold weather? In the summer it does move up a little more. Not looking forward to replacing the thermostat if that's r...

Re: Running Higher gears at slower speeds

Like mentioned in the video, low speed/high load is not ideal but if I'm just loafing along on flat ground only needing enough power to overcome wind resistance and the tires rolling on the ground, I'll be in 5th by 35 mph easy, that is not high load - it's practically no load at all. You don't need...

Finally a nice sunny day with no snow on the ground, I'm going out for a ride! I had to pop on the new panel even though there's nothing mounted in it yet, it fits like a glove. And as mentioned the plastic is thicker than even the Honda part it replaces, it is very sturdy, matches perfectly and is ...
