Re: Rear drive spinning ??
With it running on the center stand and the rear brake locked, put it in gear let out the clutch and see what is moving and what isn't.

What is your battery voltage? Also check with the headlights on, too.

Re: Bike won’t start
There is a master "dogbone" fuse that can crack. It won't look blown, but will fall to pieces when you take it out. Otherwise, get a test light and check power and grounds.

Re: Gl1500 shifter options?
For one that isn't the factory shifter, as these came with foot pegs and a normal toe shifter. Only you can answer what your skills are as to making or modifying your shifter. Because of the strange shifter extension that the 1500 uses I doubt it will interchange with any other bike. However, you ca...

Pop the gas cap and see if that corrects it. The vented caps can become plugged. A soak in cleaner will often take care of them.

If you are losing pressure in a matter of minutes, it will be an obvious leak. You will need to check all the hoses and fittings along the way.

Re: Bet you've never seen this...
I can understand that. What with various subcontractors and other vendors. But when Honda can't even tell which of two parts are bad without resorting to "replace with known good unit" they are falling down on the job. There is no reason they can't check the data going between the boards. ...

Spraying with soapy water or Big Blu is a lot easier than dunking the bike in a swimming pool.

You can see in these photos. Drilling is required for the supplied hardware. You might be able to fabricate something that doesn't require drilling.

Replace the batteries in the sensors?
There are a few topics here about how to do that. I think Honda just wants you to buy new sensors.

Re: Weak battery?
Yes there are tests for batteries. Measure the voltage and current into a dummy load. Some auto parts stores can do this test for you, but some can't do bike batteries. Pretty much the 1500 has a battery test built in. If you are having to do the press and release trick to get it started, you need a...

Really should not have taken that kind of force to get it apart, unless something is way out of alignment. No one local who can TIG weld it for you? Well the real loading is down and the bolt will have some support from the threads. As a side of the road repair it would probably get you home, but I ...

Re: Issue after new fuel pump installed
The cube pumps are great for some applications, but the 1500 is an in-tank pump, And the cube pumps typically can't be submerged.
BTW don't run racing fuel through a cube pump. The epoxy that holds them together will dissolve. Ask me how I know.

Re: Tour pack
The big consideration is that Honda doesn't sell that as an accessory, so buying the individual parts is over $3k not to mention any parts that need to be replaced to accommodate it. Honda has been pretty good in the past about having things like wiring be all the same. But these days you might need...

Re: Issue after new fuel pump installed
No idea. Because the number is the same it's a good guess that the Carter pump is what Napa sells. However, I was not able to find a pressure spec. The cars it is listed for make me thing it is a normal 4-7psi automotive pump. But without measuring who knows. Many years ago I had the same issue on a...

Re: Well I screwed up, 93 GL1500 is dead Jim!
If you did break a belt, you might very well be looking at a used engine. These are interference engines and a broken belt is rapidly followed by valve and piston damage. That there was no noise or lockup means there is a chance it wasn't a broken belt but something more repairable. Time to take a l...

Re: Please help identify bag light component
Depends. It sounds like you might have the Hondaline lights. They are electroluminescent strip lights and the box is a high voltage inverter. Those lights always go bad, so your best bet is to do an LED swap. Plenty of topics on DIY solutions for that. https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...
