With onboard air suspension, it's not an interstate. Since it is in Slovenia, my guess is some Euro model, which for sure would have a different radio.

Time to get out the sand wedge and play through. Having reverse is very nice, too.

No CB either, but that might be more a Euro thing than not being an SE. You can see what it is from the number plate on the steering stem.
Have a look here for the difference between Euro and US.

Re: OK.. why not ATF vs Fork Oil?
There are currently at least 8 different types of ATF with varying viscosities, and additive packages.
None of which are what was sold back when these bikes were new. For me it's just easier to use fork oil.

Re: How to clean oil from brake rotors
I would use a degreaser and a pressure washer. However, you have to be extra careful not to blast water into the wheel bearings. As a precaution I would go out for a nice long ride afterwards to heat everything up and drive out any moisture. The small brush and solvent would also do the job, maybe w...

The 1500 seems to be cursed with this problem. Every good tire is always a flash in the pan.wanna becco wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 3:15 pm Just got off the phone with Mike from universal... great guy, but they do not imagine ever getting that tire back.![]()

Re: Flashers between top and bottom LED not in sinch
Some aftermarket lights use their own flasher especially sequential types. You need to provide a lot more info as to what you have, what it does and what you want it to do. A video would be ideal. Are the flashes per minute different, or just the sync timing?

Bought a GL1100, basically no maintenance for 20 years. What do I need to have done? Basically 20 years' worth of maintenance. She won't be a cheap date. But plenty have been brought back to life. If you want a turnkey rider, a 40 plus year old bike might not be the best place to look. At least it ...

Oh, I guess the square rubber pad is part of the highway pegs? I've seen heel/toe units with that same type of pad, but it looked strange pointed in that direction.

Re: 1989 GL1500 Mystery: product code/part number?
Looks like a possible key code. If so, it will be stamped on every lock cylinder. The fuel door or faring compartment are easy ones to see. The last three are what you need to cut a key from code.

The DCT has different issues.
I think this is another of the bolt failures. A heat treat issue where a bolt is too brittle and breaks off leading to the disaster you see above. No recall yet that I am aware of.

Re: Finally ready for pics
That looks like some crazy modified shifter from the photos. Ditching the heel/toe is a good plan on this model as they have an issue with bending a shift fork, that is more common with the heel/toe mod. 1/3 to 1/2 temp is normal at highway speed. Slower and it will climb to around 2/3 to 3/4 where ...

Dissimilar metal corrosion can really lock them in place, especially if they have never been touched in 40 years. Also, a JIS screwdriver is always the best option, as Philips will slip. Some of the Vessel brand drivers even have the impact mechanism built-in.

Re: Tire for GL1500 in 2023
The Dunlop Elite 4 is a popular choice, there are also Metzlers, Avon Cobras, Continentals, and others. The Austones are still made, just no longer imported to the US. There are several darkside topics that list various brands and sizes. Fitment isn't always ideal. It seems that when a great tire is...

I did not know you could lube that pin. What lube are you putting on it? Are you concerned that it would get on the pads or rotor? I have not experience the shuttering issue. I also have an 06 Wing.
