Wiggle, pull, repeat. There is a 0-ring holding it snug.

Re: Alternitive Throttle options?

How about a thumb throttle off of, or like those used on ATV's.
Would solve one problem, but probably create another. You would have to hold it with your thumb all the time.
Just a thought.

Re: GL1500 stereo upgrade/replacement

My Unobtainium 2.1 radio panel arrived today. Very nice piece. My bike is a disassembled and in primer waiting for me to decide color. I have sanded the texture off all the hard pieces and will do so to this. I will post some pictures when I get moving on it again. The pressure is off to get it done...

Re: Restoring/Painting hand control markings

I have the same problem on my 90.
I use vinyl lettering on my rc planes and thought about having some cut and see how they look. Once properly installed they are amazingly durable.
That though, is far down my list of things to do.

Spray the clear before you say it does not match. Clear will change the tone due to different light reflection.

Re: UNOBTAINIUM 3.0 PANEL? DIN adapter

The 91 Interstate had a Clarion radio, I believe, in the left pocket and the blank panel in place of the Aspencade radio/cassette. It is no longer available. I have been looking on eBay for one for what seems like forever.
Hopefully bluthundr31 will get it worked out and we can have new ones.

I have a Pearl White DCT Tour and love it. Amazing machine. Only add on items are Honda backrest and Honda passenger arm rests.
I have talked to a couple of 6 speed owners and they are very happy too.

Re: How do you remove the Left Middle Exhaust Shield

I had the same problem trying to remove the chrome ones that came on the bike when I got it. Checked the service manual. I had to drop the exhaust to remove it. It amazes me how much money people will spend to add chrome. I replaced the round gaskets when I did it. They were not expensive.

Re: Cost and Source for 1999 Goldwing Front Fender

If you buy a used one, study the pictures real well. Most are cracked from over tightened fender extension screws. If you can't tell contact the seller. Even then it might be a crap shoot. The seller I bought mine from said it was perfect. When I got it it was cracked. He claimed the USPS did it. It...

Re: Chrome clutch and brake levers

Also keep in mind that some aftermarket levers do not have accurate flats for the micro switches. You may find that your cruise control will not set. if that is the case, and you want chrome, you can glue a shim to the offending flat.

Re: Mirror glass removal

I should have been more clear in my description. I want to remove the glass assembly. The mirror unit fits into a socket on the mirror housing. I want to remove the whole unit from the housing.
Thanks for the response though, I appreciate it.

Mirror glass removal

Is it possible to remove the mirror glass? I am painting the bike, and it would be much easier to spray the housing if the glass was out. I have tried prying it, but am afraid I might break it. I see the aftermarket chrome ones come with the mirror installed. Anyone ever removed one?

Thanks, Tony

We did the group ride thing a few times and it is not for us.
I see how that would be important to you as a group ride lead.
Hope Mother Honda gets it figured out.

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

I guess I'm old school. We use a atlas when there is a need to find a certain road. For us it's all about the trip, not the destination. We usually do not get to our original target. I have no need for nav on the bike or in the car. Keep my eyes on the road and my surroundings. Don't want any distra...

I have the Honda backrest on mine and like it a lot. It is adjustable for and aft, just not very tall. I'm 6ft. tall and it is enough support for me.

I purchased a new one from Partzilla for $83.00. I bought a black one (lucky guess on type). Different type, different color. I sanded it smooth for painting, so color was no important.

Re: Has anyone ever made a "rat bike" out of a 1500?

You must be looking at that sun bleached 93 in Ballard. $1000 is not bad if it runs good. It would cost a lot of $$$$ to replace all the sun bleached black plastic items, controls etc..
Seems like a perfect rat ride to me. Go for it.
