Thumbs up on the proposal for Dragon's Back / Claw / Tazewell as a possible destination. Throw in the 105 mile Skyline drive through Shenandoah National Park and even Route 55. Great scenery!

Re: Third Annual GoldwingDocs Gathering - Sep 11-15, 2019
OK, I've had a room booked for months and looking forward to riding with y'all again this year. Will be leaving home (near Columbus, OH) on Monday the 9th and taking the scenic to Maggie Valley, likely towards a run on the Back of the Dragon and say hello to friends in that area. Planning to be at t...

Re: It is never to early to plan: 2019 GoldwingDocs Gathering
I have been on most of the suggested routes and they are all good, especially the US 421 run from Boone to Bristol through Mountain City. Want to try US 321 someday, too. Can't go wrong with the BRP but perhaps not ideal for a long large group ride. Accommodations around Maggie Valley vary greatly b...

Avoid carsick at all costs! It was a pleasure to ride with you. Thinking a return ride in another couple weeks might catch fall foliage along the route.

Re: 2nd Annual GoldwingDocs Gathering - Sep 13-16, 2018
Pleased to hear everyone has returned home safely. Like William and Scott, Al, Corky and I just had to get a few more miles of twisties through the woods to cap off a great weekend. Probably a good thing we hit the biscuits and gravy afterwards! Next year's gathering sounds good so I already have it...

Sympathies to those in the Carolinas, hope Florence continues to weaken. At least our gathering looks to be catching a break if only for an extra day or so. Still planning to arrive Friday afternoon. Stay safe!

Add me as a late addition! I can manage to arrive later in the day on Friday. Trying hard to avoid anything which might cause me to miss out this year. Locked in 2 nights across the highway in the Microtel.

Re: First time posters, say hello!
Greetings, all! I moved up to a Wing a little over 4 years ago and have not looked back. I have even persuaded (at least) two other riders to acquire an 1800, as well. One of them was a long time HD owner! They both sing praises to Goldwings now. I average between 14-16K miles a year on my Wing and ...
