Re: Battery Just Died!

They do just die like that quite often. Dirty terminals also can cause a similar problem.

My 95 aspy has your alternative emblems on it. SE and CDN edition might be different.

It's the tappet adjusting plug on a 73 cb350 too. Fits older ones also. Longest running part for sure.

Did it run good last year? Stuck throttle cable or "choke" cable maybe.

Re: always started until this spring

Do you know how many amps your charger is rated for? It could be too small to crank the starter. 10.4v is very low, too low to start the bike. Check the battery when you put the charger on it. Does the battery voltage go up? That will tell you if the charger is working at all. It should go up to 13....

Re: Problems with Oxford Heaterz Grips

Smaller gauge wire and more connections allowed less power to the grips. I hope you put a fuse in the new line near the battery.

Re: Water leak and intake

The first time I did it took about ten hours to take it apart and back together. Watch the tutorials on this site as you go. Might need some long screwdrivers and long hose pliers.

I had the same problem on mine. Checked every plug and circuit. 6 months later I replaced the bulb. Reach up under the dash and pull out the old one and put in a new one. Problem solved.

Re: Fabricated ignition switch grommet

Looks nice. I'll have to fire up the lathe and do the same. Mine is a chrome one that is patched back together, scratched and falls off ocasionally. Only the key stops me from losing it sometimes. I like the velcro idea.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look at the rear and do a front fluid change at about mid level and see how it feels I guess.

progressive suspension

I bought my 95 aspy last year and did a lot of restoring. My suspension has always worked good for me but I have a question. There was a sticker in the trunk that said progressive suspension. Without taking rear and front apart, how can I tell what is in my machine. Or can't I. I mainly want to chan...

Re: Modulator Question

I see very few in central Wisconsin. I had one on my other wing since they were first allowed. The other day I overheard a twin rider say he thought they were real atttention getters but he thought they were illegal now. I set him straight and he said he would have to look at getting
one now.

Re: DSO150 Digital Oscilloscope

I bought one of these in July and soldered it together. I probably soldered something wrong but cant find the problem, so it works real glitchy. I ordered another one last week and it was fully assembled with a probe and under $20 . It works as good as my old 1984 tektronics for what I do with it. :D

Re: starter problem

Check the fuel shutoff and gas cap first. That's the easiest. If you eliminate other problems. The side with the wet plug is the carb to take apart. Before you open the carbs try several doses of seafoam or marvel mystery oil in the gas.

I second the switch. When I was restoring my 1500 last fall the same thing happened intermittently. cleaning the switch solved the problem for me.
