Fuel Pump for Early GL1800s

Somewhere I was reading of somebody having a fuel pump problem. And, years ago, I remember reading of a substitute fuel pump that can be used in the Early 1800s from a Honda Auto. But, I could not remember where I wrote the information down for safe keeping. Well I found that information. Here is wh...

Re: Bluetooth trasmitter from OEM 5 pins connector

I found that turning on the headset first, before turning on the bike lets the Helmet connect much better. If I do what was said above, they don't connect. I turn on my headset. Put the helmet on, then turn the key on the bike either to on or ACC. My headset then tells me that it is connecting. Beca...

Re: Hello all, my lovely 'new' bike has died on me

You might have a bad relay that is not always making a connection properly when you turn the key on. Check ground cable to the starter. Also the main ground cable from the battery to the frame,

Re: Overtightened rear wheel nuts

I torque my rear wheel lugs at 80 foot pounds every time I put them back on. Still when removing them it takes a grunt to get them loose. I use a half inch breaker bar with a pipe extension to get them loose. It isn't the anti-seize that helps break them loose in the future. It is the mating surface...

Re: Defective "new" tires

When you mounted the tire did you make sure it popped on the rim when putting air in it. If you did not hear the pop, maybe twice the tire could be on the rim crooked. Usually it takes 45 or more psi to get that pop and seating properly on the rim.

Re: GL1800 engine cylinder cover question

The Lower Cover is for the Spark Plugs. The Upper Cover is for the Valves. There are Rubber gaskets or seals in each bolt hole on the cover. The upper cover also has a gasket that needs to seat in the grooves of the cover. If you did not put it back on correctly and check it to make sure it is not p...

Yes you said that, already. What I'm saying is so what. The kit I have is simple and comes with all you need. Sitting still is easy to know when you are in 1st, neutral or second. No trying to find LED indicators and material to make your own and guess to where you have to splice in. I've been ridin...

Re: LED Gear Indicator

My Gear Indicator while sitting at a light or stop sign shows ( - ). As soon as I let out the clutch it shows a 1 for first gear and I'm not even moving more than 1 or 2 mph. Once moving and shifting up or down it indicates the proper gear. If I start off in 2nd, it shows that immediately. I don't s...

I once also had a 2014 Harley Low Rider. I installed a device (can not remember what it was called) that plugged into the line from each O2 sensor. It would enrichen the fuel mixture by altering the signal to the ECM. I did this to get better take-off from stop signs and red lights. It also made the...

Re: Valve adjustment necessary at 51000 miles?

We did the valve shim change out, today for intake valves on cylinders 5 and 6. Took us 3 hours. Both valves before the work were tighter than .004". I went down 3 shims on #5 and 2 shims on #6. Now both intakes are perfect at .006". The hardest part of the job was putting the front cowlin...

Re: play from flash drive on 2006

You can not play directly from a flash drive. The plug you want to use has to get power from another source. That source can be an MP3 Player, or Phone, etc. The MP3 player is about the same size as flash drive. But the flash drive has batteries to power it. That is the way it is on my 2005.

Re: Emergency/Hazard switch

You can buy those switches from almost anywhere. They are an aftermarket switch and I think even Wing Stuff and Electrical Connection has them. I bought a couple just to have a spare when I replaced my bad switch. I don't know why Honda couldn't have just used a push on push off or even a toggle. I ...

I basically did the same at the Banks ATM. Cracked the mirror, the housing and the yellow turn lens. Found a color match left mirror complete and installed it in minimum time. I almost decided that since I was replacing the mirror I thought of replacing it with the turn indicator as part of the mirr...

Where is the best place to buy Brake Speed Bleeders for a 2005? I believe the part number is SB8125L M8 x 1.25. My understanding that part number compared to OEM is slightly taller and the SB8125LL is taller still.

Re: Replacing Trunk Tail Light Bult

There is a tool that fits like an open end wrench and it has a cutter on the outside that you use another wrench or screwdriver to screw the cutter against the nut and it splits it off. You are looking at an 8mm head nut and it should break off pretty easy.
