Re: Wes's GL1100 Rear Shock Seal replacement VIDEO

Hey Wes, got'em done. piece of cake really. I have one of those goofy ratchet and socket sets that have a through hole in both. that let me use a socket over the all thread to run the nuts down. will have the fittings in the mail on Tuesday. thanks much.

Re: Here's my old one.

WP_20190415_13_35_53_Pro.jpg Oh yea forgot to mention this one came out of my gl1200. Figure they use the same thermostat. At any rate the burp hole should be a 12 o'clock with no obstruction. Some aftermarket ones do not have the burp hole, some do and some have that little thingy on the hole. I r...

Re: fan removal/installation

I figured as much. never hurts to ask though, huh. do you have a secret trick to burping these things. I've constantly got coolant being pushed out until air is gone. never had so much problem burping a radiator. thanks,

fan removal/installation

is it necessary to remove the radiator to swap out the fan assy? I worked in automotive collision for over 30 years and this radiator is the worst I've ever dealt with to burp and i'd just rather not remove it if I don't really have to. tks,

a/m cam seals

Aftermarket cam seals!! DON'T use them. I didn't get 1200 miles out of them. noticed a drip out of the left belt cover. Cam seal is seeping. removed the right side belt cover, right side cam seal also seeping. OEM seals are ordered from local Honda shop. live and learn I guess.

Re: saddlebag light help!

If the lenses are red then the running light filaments are OK. Amber rear running lights are NOT. Using a voltmeter find the connection with power all the time (key on) feeding the main tail light. On my 1100 there's a bunch of connections for turn, stop and running lights behind the license plate ...

Re: saddlebag light help!

The rear turn signals do not function as running lights. That is against code. The fronts are turn signals and running lights. The rear on the bags or on mounting stalks (on standards) should only operate as turn signals. why is it 3 wire then if they are not supposed to act as parking lamps also? ...

got my 3 1/2" steel pulley at tractor supply. requires a bushing down to 12mm. and about a 1/4" spacer to clear the covers. this is a V belt pulley. trying to do this on a fixed income budget and so far minus the belt, I have less than $120 in the project. I've sourced most everything I need from am...
