Re: Rear tire excess wear

Thanks Dave...I'll look into the Dunlop 4 . Did you have any wear on the sidewalls at all? Instead of being flat around the circumference of the tire, it's wavy..like bumps or high spots/low spots ??
Wondering if the rim is bent or out of balance ????

Howdy folks...have a 2000 GW 1500...rear tire is a Dunlop Elite 3 160/80 B16 75H Only 13,000 KM on it. running 42 psi Noticing a bad wavy/warpage on 'both' sidewalls, and can hear a woh, woh, woh, sound when I'm cornering, leaning either way. Any gas sitting in the tray around the gas cap..= leaky petcock..???
No Sir....sometimes, when I overfill or spill, but that's expected. Tank could be 1/2 full, and after a ride, it smells up the garage. I'm going to check the gas cap first, for a new seal/cap.
thanks for the reply

Re: Fuel smell after riding ?

Some will tell you it is normal because they too have a gas stinking ride on their 20 or 30 yr. old machine. :?: It takes diligence starting at tank, pump cover gasket, fuel cap, filter, petcock, hoses and connections right up to carburetors themselves to track down the cause of the fuel/vapor leak...

Re: Fuel smell after riding ?

It can be a stuck or dirty valve in the gas cap, or a worn gasket in the gas cap. The tank will pressurize when it heat soaks from the engine after the bike is parked. If the gas cap lets pressure out too early, you will smell gas. You might try filling the tank right up to the top before parking. ...

Re: Fuel smell after riding ?

Hi Danny, I'm having a similar problem. Will the bike start easily when warm? Does it smoke on startup? If you don't notice any fuel smell when riding and your fuel mileage is ok, rebuild the fuel valve. Its easy and cheap. Andy Hi Andy....yes, the bike starts first crack after a couple seconds, bu...

Fuel smell after riding ?

Hello Folks...this is my first posting. My 2000 GL1500 always stinks up the garage after a ride, no matter on the distance. Always a strong aroma of gasoline. Don't think it's running rich, as I only notice it after it's parked for about 1/2 hour in a closed garage. Anybody with same issue? Any idea...
