Re: Engine squeal after warmup

I'm not really hearing a "squeal". However, I detect a bit of a miss as you rev it up that might be the right belt one tooth off.
Sync the carbs and see how it sounds.

Re: Head shake

I have found that worn rear tires create the shake more than any other factor.

It's kind of brand specific. Metzlers were the worst, with Dunlops a close second. So far, Pirellis have been the best. I've gone through 3 sets of them and no wagging, even when completely worn out.

Don't know what the Haynes book says, but this is the Honda version.

Re: Changing valve cover gasket

I think it's rarely the gasket leaking on a GL12. On the left side it's usually the shift shaft seal and on the right it's the rear cam seal.

Re: Bumper and light bar install??

So, I'm confused. The first post is by RigginRay back in 2011.

How are you, 38 Wing, connected? And are you sure it's a Drag Spec part?

Have you looked on Drag Specialties' web site?

Re: Gl1200 valves

Actually, there are shims. Do you have an OEM manual?

What kind of gasket is that? It doesn't look OEM.

Re: Cylinder head, camshaft 85 1200A

The cams are different between the '84/'85 and the '86/87. Resulting in the earlier models opening at 10° and at 5° for the later.
There's also a very minor difference in lobe height between earlier and later models.

My guess is you'd never know it when riding.
